We booked our trip to NYC 8/26/11-8/28/11. I was so excited when I saw the package deal that later when I checked our total price charged; we got stuck paying about $300 more compare to the quote I saw. I emailed customer service wondering why and where the additional fee came from but never received a response. I didn't think the tax would be that high so my guess is probably us selecting our flights might have made a difference in the total price??? Until this day (9/1/11) I have not recieved a response what the chargers was for.
My next issue was the customer support. Since we decided to go to NYC at the last minute, we didn't think to buy the insurance for the tickets. We had brought the package deal (air/hotel) 1 week before going. With our luck the week we where going mother nature kicked in; a earthquake had trembled to NYC and hurricane Irene was coming that weekend. I called to see if we could postpone our trip was told that the only way for me to receive full credit was if our flight was cancelled. Aparently, the flight did not cancel so we had to go and chance our trip with the hurricane coming. Turns out our flight back on Sunday was cancelled early that morning. I never received a call or email to notify me. Luckily, us being there, we saw the news that all flights were cancelled that day. So we called to see when we would get on the next flight out of NYC to MKE but got the run around. Called the airline (Frontier) first, was told by customer service to contact BookIt for better assistant and look for different flights from other airlines. Called BookIt and was told to call the airline and work with them. BookIt doesn't help you find other flights from other airlines...then asked for help on extending the hotel stay and BooKIt was unalbe to help us get the same room or another hotel location. We ended up calling the airline to rebook and went to the front desk to ask to extend our room. Only got stuck paying another $160 for the room...rip off!
I wouldn't recommend using this site to book anything every again....worst trip ever!
