Four Nights Budapest Christmas Markets

Flights with Ryanair better than expected, on schedule and comfortable apart from having to stand for ages at Budapest airport in a cold shed.
The Star Inn Hotel was excellent, especially for the money. Reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly, giving good advice and making bookings for us. Hotel room was clean, quiet and comfortable.
Budapest is a lovely city, we walked to the Széchenyi thermal baths for a really pleasant half day bathing in the hot outdoor pools despite the air temperature of about 2 degrees C and light rain.
Shopping was great fun, the food and drink is very reasonable, we only took cabin luggage so didn't buy a lot of stuff.
We bought a two day pass for the "Big Bus" Hop on Hop off service, there are at least three other bus companies all doing a similar service. Great fun and a good way to see all the main attractions. Hospital in the Rock was a fascinating and chilling reminder of events of two world wars and the cold war.
All in all a brilliant holiday. Thoroughly recommended.
