Me and my family stayed at the Club Cala Romani hotel in August. My mother is in her 70's and suffers from really bad athritis in her knees so therefor has to rely on a wheelchair to help her get about. When arriving at the hotel it looked nice it was a very big complex with several blocks of rooms. My moms room was on the 3rd floor even though my sister had emailed a special request for a ground floor room. I tried to get the wheelchair in the lift but it wouldnt fit as it was so tiny I made several attempts to get my mother in the lift in her wheelchair but it was impossible. The only option was for her to get out of the chair and stand in the lift so I could fold the wheelchair down. This caused a lot of pain for my mom. Also the lift didn't go down to the ground floor to the pool or the restaurant. So I.d have to get her out on the first floor then push her down this extremely steep slope which I found hard to hold onto the wheelchair on the way down as it was so steep so didn't feel safe at all pushing her. The rooms were so compact she couldnt get around it in her wheelchair so she.d have to get out and get someone to assist her round the room. We spoke to the Manager about this being a problem and she was very rude towards us saying its not my problem your moms in a wheelchair it's your problem.
The food was ok I always found something nice to enjoy.
The pool area was very busy as the hotel was so big with so many rooms. We had to get up at 6 o'clock every morning to ensure we could get sun loungers for our 12 family members.
The snack bar in the day didn't really offer anything appetising it was jus bread an meat an pate with a bit of dryed up fruit. They could have had some cakes, chips, pizzas and toasties that way the restaurants wouldn't have been so full at lunchtime.
The kids slush machines were constantly locked as they didn't stay frozen for long this could do with being improved.
There was three of us in our room and it was very cramped 3 single beds squashed into the room way to small.
There was no air conditioning so the rooms were unbearably hot trying to get ready and also when we slept at night.
Our room was overlooking the front of the hotel so there was a constant noise of flowing traffic & coaches pulling up with new guests.
The pool was very nice and it also had tennis courts which we used on several occasions.
Overall I had a nice holiday as I was with my family but I wouldn't particular recommend this hotel and I wouldn't stay here again x
