“Apalling customer service and do not accept responsiblity”

Written on: 22/04/2016 by lbt0810 (1 review written)

I recently booked a holiday with this shoddy company. I generally make my own decisions but be advised do not expect anything other than a mediocre service. Extremely rude on the phone, incapable of making a booking without it being littered with errors. when this is pointed out to them they do not accept responsibility. One or 2 of the staff were ok the rest absolutely waste of time because they don't know what they are doing! I agree with previous reviews too once you go through to booking… Read Full Review

Dear Client

You booked a holiday less than 48 hours prior to its departure in the middle of a school holiday. When you made your booking you were clearly advised it was on a "request basis and confirmation would take up to 24 hours We contacted you to advise you that there was only one seat left. Unfortunately very last minute bookings like this when they are so cheap are reliant of airlines having availability. Airlines sell their seats 365 days ahead of departure if you wish to guarantee a booking early....but clearly not at these prices. It is unfortunate that we could not help you at this late stage...but of course no money was taken from your payment card and no contract established. We also do advise not to make additional arrangements until you receive confirmation that you are actually going.on holiday and thats its booked

We are sorry you feel this way. Booking a holiday going the next day is going to cause issues with availability given the fact they go on sale a year before.

Unfortunately we do not have the human resource to input over 10 million holiday offers each day. All offers upload automatically and are not input manually as you suggest. The system will scan the cheapest flight with the cheapest hotel that you have selected and searched and bring back the results.

To leave a 1 star review for a holiday having no availability the next day is extremely uncalled for, you haven't made a booking, the holiday is simply no longer available as you have left it until a day before. Holidays do not work like train tickets, they need to be booked more in advance.

Hi, who we dealt with earlier this week

When you chose to book your trip to Egypt you we aware of the separate flight and hotel arrangements that had been made. Obviously the situation in Sharm is outside our control. There is no obligation for ANYONE to refund ANY part of your arrangements - the hotel is still open and flights still operating. However appreciating your sensitivity and not wishing to travel you have been provided with a full refund of your flights, and a full refund of the hotel. Your admin charge is non refundable as we still have to administer your booking.

No reasonable person would suggest that spending hours obtaining the various refunds from the relevant suppliers that they are not obliged to provide you with and ensuring then administering payment to you should be done for no reward - hence why admin charges are non refundable. In turn we will not be able to ask our advertising mediums as ask them to refund the advertising cost of anyone that booked to go to Sharm.

When you choose to make a purchase of any item the contractual obligations are advised at the relevant time - and your ungrounded comments above are simply lies.

We are not profiting from the cancellation of your booking - quite the opposite as we are not receiving our commission from the hotels or airlines. We are still charging our admin charges as we are still expected to administrator your cancellation and ensure the safe refund of your funds.

The poor customer service is preposterous as you appear to have taken umbrage at being asked to be patient at a time when we were prioritising clients in resort and requiring IMMEDIATE assistance. At that time you were politely advised that you still had 15 days left before travel and at that time when the airlines had not decided whether they were continuing flights.

Not entirely sure what "love to spoit T & C" actually means, but if that is a referral that we are working by the terms and condtions that you have agreed to abide by then of course we apologise - but as these terms are industry approved and standard practise.

Finally you were offered many solutions throughout the time when you felt we were not helping you which you chose not to accept - my suggestion is that you should not use the poor situation in Egypt as a political tool to expect services outside to the terms that you agreed to book under

We booked a holiday on Friday 14/8/15 to travel to Gran Canaria leaving on 22/8/15, when we agreed the holiday we were told the flight had gone up by £60 per person but we still agreed to go, the man on the phone took all our details and said we would get an email to confirm but gave every indication that our holiday was booked - not the case! There were no direct seats home, only in-direct flights, something you did not want which is fair enough. In future the busiest most expensive period of the year is better to book much more in advance than a week, that way there are no availability issues and you can avoid any potential disappointment. But to clarify, with any airline, there were no direct seats home hence you were offered what other flights were available.

It would seem reasonable to presume you were happy with the manner with which we resolved the isssues by the nature of your final response and we take no offence at your initial outburst....these thing happen!

Just to update my review. Weve just got a call from 321. The holiday weve booked isnt available. Its taken them 2 days to tell us this. Apparently theyve FOUND us another holiday still going tomorrow but instead of Paphos, were supposed to be going to Turkey!!! Were supposed to be getting an email anytime soon to confirm this. This company are incompetent at the best. The staff just laugh and sound VERY insincere when you talk to them. A very DONT CARE attitude.

We are sorry you feel you had a bad experience. From time to time when booking last minute deals a couple of days before a bank holiday this occurs. Flight prices go through the roof and airlines overbook their flights. We will always try our best to get you away within budget and did on this occasion. We always ask for patience on last minute peak holidays and the very reason people come to us is because we can secure the last minute holidays cheaper than you can source the flight costs at.

You are correct, we do, many companies will not touch last minute peak holidays due to the amount of availability issues and resulting complaints. We give people a chance to get affordable peak holidays last minute but of course issues arise as the supply out ways the demand. With flights as much as £700 per person to normal holiday destinations we are able to offer families a cheap holiday if they've left if very late, but patience is needed while our team try to find something within the budget. Many companies will not even entertain a 'get me anywhere last minute' quote.

Have just booked what looked like a lovely holiday to Benalmedena for 4 adults and 1 child (albeit there are only 2 adults, 2 teens and 1 child). Total price comes up on screen and a reference number. Each time you google it a different price comes up but hey ho it wasn't a million miles off. First problem our return airport in Managua (which is in Nicuagra) instead of Malaga. Second issue is Agency bonding Fee of £18 per person per flight which is of course in the small print of the terms… Read Full Review

As a result of this review, we have been moved to a different hotel (we're told there have been a few problems with the hotel originally booked) all names on the booking have now been amended, a partial refund of the agency bonding fee has been made and a voucher issued towards the cost of our next holiday.
The manager who called was very helpful, even returning a call on his day off, and the refund was received by post within 24 hours.
Moral of this story...be sure to know the right questions to ask when making a booking (this was my first time of booking this kind of holiday). Check all fees are included in the TOTAL PRICE!!!
Overall, sales and management very helpful, admin poor. A whole lot of hassle but some confidence restored. We will see what the holiday brings.

I agree Cjd1959. Glad you had success with the management of 321travel. If 321travel made a few adjustments to their website and included the agency bonding fee on the front page in their total price they would have far less people ringing them up complaining as the customer could just click the button and finish the process without having to ring them at all. From all the review's I've read this charge seems to be a lot of the issues with 321travel. Also the only other problem with the website was that it didn't clarify that our booking was for 2 rooms. Other than that it would have been less stressful for us and also for them. It's making it very difficult for the management with the customer service when a few small adjustments would make it plainer to all involved.

We are sorry for the experiences you feel you had and are happy to see things have been sorted for you both. The peak period Bank Holidays always increase the call volume 100% as everyone is desperate to get away and the demand far out ways the supply. Admin lines can get very busy at these times of year but every issue will be sorted as soon as we can. Thank you for the positive feedback on the website and all comments regarding any improvements are always duly noted.

If you want to only focus on the negative reviews as some people do, then yes. We send away many thousands of passengers each month without any problem and complaints are all relative to the passengers who travel. Any issue can take upto 28 days to reach a resolution after your complaint is registered and if you would like further help the TTA our trade regulator will be happy to help.

I just had a check at the Tesco reviews on here, 2 stars? Because mostly customers with any kind of problem will post online before a resolution is reached, I wouldn't call Tesco a bad company though.

Same happened to us, a family of four, in May this year. Took our money and the next day told us the flights weren't available and actually booked us flights from a different airport with flight changes in different countries. We paid 2 x £50 for baggage and then when we got to airports had to pay all our weight in excess baggage as they hadn't booked us any baggage allowance. Also had to pay 60 Euros for a taxi as the transfer voucher wasn't valid when we arrived in Turkey. Absolutely awful company.

We do not change hotels last minute. Holiday Brokers went out of business and this was who your hotel was booked with. Upon trying to re book the hotel it was so close to the time the best option available was the one booked, your original hotel was fully booked. Research On Holiday Group and you will see many agents and passengers were affected by this large bedbank going into liquidation. Short on cancelling the holiday completely the only option we have is to re book you into another hotel.

warning on 321 travel. Do not use 321 travel - their terms and conditions are unfair according to guidance on unfair terms in package holiday contracts - 'a standard term is unfair if contrary to the requirements of good faith, it causes a significant imbalance in the parties' rights and obligations arising under the contact, to the detriment of the consumer'. they rattle through terms and conditions of seatsavers very quickly - I stopped the salesman several times as could not hear him well… Read Full Review

I work in the admin team at 321 Travel, so let me just clear up the 'issue' on this booking.

The booking was booked under our seat saver option, this will in simple terms be the cheapest way to get you from point A to B. If you do not wish to proceed with this booking you are within your right to do so. The key terms of this are not rushed through and customers are advised before the terms are read to listen carefully and stop us if they do not understand, they are also advised to fully read the terms on our website if they wish to do so.

If a direct flight is cheaper, you will go onto a direct flight, if not, the flight will have a stop. Many people are happy to take thier families to Eygpt for example, hundreds of pounds cheaper than normal on a seat saver fare. What some people do and are fully aware of what they're doing is see a flight for £600 to Sharm, call us, book a seat saver fare for £300, then complain to try and get a direct flight for that money.

What actually happened on this booking is the customer booked a seat saver fare which means the flight may be indirect. The passenger was called back to be notified of this as the direct flight was alot more expensive. As a courtesy the passenger was offered 5 options. Option 1, change from GLA to PIK on the same day for no extra charge. Option 2, day earlier direct flight from GLA. Option 3, pay extra for the direct flight. Option 4, a flight that had a stop on the way out only. Option 5, cancel the holiday.

There were plenty of options available and lots of help to try and resolve it. A direct flight was not available for the money paid on this booking. A booking can still be completed but all help has been refused.

They did the same to me and you will see quite a few others. They troll these sites and write their own reviews also so expect some comments from them telling them how its all your fault. It isn't, complain to your bank, to the police, to trading standards, to visa, ask for a copy of the phone recordings and the corresponding phone log, they have to provide it, and when they don't, then report that to trading standards and the police as a separate issue. Their original ts&cs on the website have been changed to suit their nefarious looking activities but I managed to keep a copy of the originals and lodge them with various bodies but beware of a snake that tries to shed it's skin.

Would it be possible for you to send me a copy of there original terms and conditions before they changed them with the date it took effect as I'm also having a lot of trouble with them.
It might help me out a bit

not so angry and fed up now, as we are close to sorting it out! I thought it was worth one more call to 321 travel, rather than trying for weeks to get the money back and I have to say that their customer service was a completely different experience this time and they were very helpful. As prices and availability had changed, the solution has involved a change of date, duration and airport, with a late outward flight, but I am ok with this, as they have included the extra night of accomodation and carparking for free. They are also adding in resort transfer, which apparently was not included originally. Still finding it a bit of a hassle sorting stuff with their admin - confusing confirmation, as lots of stuff incorrect and don't know what is happening with the room, which should have been a triple, as paying adult prices, with no reductions for my two kids. At least it is nearly organised and we are going on a holiday. I am grateful for the effort that 321 travel have made to sort this out.

Any additional fees to a holiday would be quoted before the booking is confirmed, this simply would not just be added to a booking. If you would like the call recording, please give us a call and we will be happy to provide this.

Yes we do advise you to checkin at the airport, so long as you checkin with at least 2 hours to go, seating is generally not an issue, if you are any later than this problems can occur, but airlines are very understanding when it comes to this. We never have any issues with passenger seating who checkin with at least 2 hours notice.

You dont clearly state that it is £18 PER WAY! And at no point was I advised to check in online hence why I rung up twice to ask what my reference number was so I could check in and both times the lady said I dont need to!!
You never apoligise for your mistakes just try and cover them up with excuses.
You should listen to the the recordings of me ringing up twice to ask and you will see that im not lying, feel free to also listen to the first recording of my booking where the man I booked with says its £18 per person in taxes which I agree to, he does not state thatais each way!!

We never at any point said you lied. We quote all prices over the phone and we do advise you to checkin at the airport unless it's an airline where you HAVE to checkin online. As long as you are at the airport in plenty of time issues regarding seating are rare. We hope you enjoyed your holiday.

“Be VERY wary and ask questions”

Written on: 29/10/2013 by millychristie (1 review written)

Be incredidbly wary of booking with this company. My experience was one of nothing but stress....before I travel!! The secret to dealing with this lot is to ask questions. They do offer the cheapest deals on the internet, but by the time you add on the extra's and hidden surprises, you are just as well dealing with another company, which is more clear cut. I booked the holiday over the phone, with no issues and found the gentleman to be more than pleasant. At the end they give you the usual… Read Full Review

Firstly let me just clear up, there are no 'hidden' costs, everything is quoted to you over the telephone. As in any industry, all prices are lead prices, and this is no different with travel. If you want the cheapest possible travel, with no bags or transfers, you can have just that. Call any agent on Ice lolly, teletext etc, they all operate in exactly the same manner. All prices are lead fares and available to book at that costs. If you want an Egypt holiday £200 per person cheaper than any where else, we can offer that, but you must accept the prices are that much cheaper because the flight will have a stop en-route.

Let me also point out, that when you were offered an extra day, or the option of a direct flight at an increased cost NO MONEY HAD LEFT YOUR BANK ACCOUNT and no booking made at this point. You are at liberty to refuse the alternative offers and look elsewhere. You accepted an alternative offer, this is your choice.

Your final price of £510 person to Egypt on the dates you picked is still a fair chunk cheaper than anywhere else and this will be because you booked onto a seat saver fare. If you wish not to book onto in direct flights you can do so, but this costs more money. All of this is pointed out to you during the booking process. What people seem to do is book the cheapest fare, listen to the terms of that fare, either ignore them, not pay attention, then complain afterwards. We offered you the alternative to pay the extra and book the direct flights, but even then you have complained, at that point as I said before, you should've just cancelled down your booking request as no money had left your card.

The agency bonding fee again is quoted on every telephone call, if you do not wish to pay for this, again, we can end the telephone call and you are at liberty to look elsewhere. It is not something we do not quote on the call or merely add on without notification. This bonding covers you if any part of your holiday fails, it is your full financial protection when travelling. Certificates are issued and can be sent if you wish to have them.

Transfers were included with your holiday, whether the hotel offer this or we do is irrelevant, it doesn't change the fact it was included, we still have to pay the hotel their rate which is a price including transfers.

I would agree with you, when entering into any contract, be it a mobile phone, life insurance or a holiday, listen carefully and make sure you read terms and conditions. That is what they are there for.

You gave me no alternative....You stated that it would cost me £50.00 per person to cancel this holiday, and given the way you operate, that was certainly what I wanted to do....You 'offered me an extra day'....You make that sound like it was in egypt, when in fact it was the lay-over at Luton Airport!!

I stand by my comments...DO NOT give this company any card details until you have the full cost, and your exact flight details and are 100% happy with everything. They are a genuine organisation, but as already stated, and proved by the comments above....not forth-coming with the full story.

They are cheap.....but for a reason as I come to find out!!

Quite right, we are cheap, we are able to offer holidays to places like Egypt at peak periods for hundreds and hundreds of pounds cheaper. Saving families over £1000 on a holiday, so they are able to go to places that as a family, they couldn't normally afford.

On any seat save fare that is booked (they alre not all seat savers as you imply) the first thing we say is 'We are about to read you some important terms and conditions of this booking, please listen carefully and if you do not understand any of the terms, please stop us and ask'. Before the terms are even read, we tell you to listen and ask if you do not understand. If you choose not to listen or ignore this, there isn't much more that we can do. The terms also go on to say 'this is booked on our seat save fare, which means flights will be indirect, involve a stop and/or a change of aircraft en route'.

This really cannot be any clearer and if you wish not to have this, you only have to say.

I agree with you.

If you want exact confirmed times you pay more and get confirmed flights.

If you want the bargain deal (which many people do) hundreds of pounds cheaper, you book the seat save fare.

The options are there, your own choice.

As it turns out.....If 321 Travel don't like the comments you place on a Forum (which is for public information to allow them to make your own choice) they threaten you with legal action, and accuse you of being a liar and giving untruths

My experience is exactly that. My experience of the organisation. It is my interpretation of what I have been through.

At no point, did I say the company was wrong. I however do think they are not forth-coming with exact details.

I freely acknowledge I should have listened to the T&C's more closely as the full information was provided.....But not the exact details of flights....and that is the point I would encourage everybody to ensure they have before booking.

The £18.00 agency fee.....Yes...was told about it, but wasn't informed it was for each way of the flight.

I do invite 321 travel to share with the public the lies and untruths that I have made.

Maybe they will like to keep that for their legal action?

This is a public flatform to post your opinion on a service or product. If there are any untruths or libellous comments within that posting we will seek full recompense legally, as we are entitled to do so.

Just because this is a public platform to review a company, that does not mean only 80% of the story/version of events should be correct.

You have tried to make it sound like we have hidden costs from you and somehow skimmed past important terms. It is as much your obligation to listen to the terms and costings as it is to listen to the dates, airports being booked etc. Terms were very clear, you were asked to listen carfeully. The same goes with the costings.

The agency bonding levy having listened to the call was quoted word for word as '£18 agency bonding fee, this is a per person charge on each of the flights that you travel on, each way.

Those two 'opinions' alone are libellous in the fact you are trying to portray we hide details of a booking and costings from our customers. This is not true and will be defended vehemently. You were given full costings and read full terms. You booked a seat save fare, the very nature of this fare as explained is that you are booking on the premise of the cheapest possible way to get to point A to B, not knowing exact times upfront, they are a guideline.

You seem more intent on having the last word more than anything else. Your booking was very clear and I really cannot see what more we could've done.

In addition, at no point I'm I stating that nobody should use your services.

I am however stating the mistakes I made while dealing with your organisation....and I re-iterate 'MY MISTAKES',

It's up to the public to make their decision from there, but threatening people with legal action certainly doesn't portray your organisation in a good light.

And of course I want the last word.....I'm a woman!!

Hi Millychristie I have gone through the exact same situation as yourself. Me and my partner booked to go to Egypt supposed to be flying on Saturday 2nd November got told about a charge of £18 and was told this was a legal requirement at not one point of the conversation was I advised of £18 per person each way and was told and confirmed before booking and payment taken the full amount would be £838 all in this was for luggage flights hotel everything and the colleague even said to me at the end of the call there is no admin fees no additional fees on top it's just £838 and that's it so I booked it all be known that the flight got cancelled and the only other alternative was to fly back a day early wasn't happy but had no other option so accepted this and to receive my email confirmation to a total price of £910! And this was for a day les and more expensive. I called to complain and then they told me about the 'bonding fee' as it should have been advised to me previous had added an extra £72 to the holiday. This money can't now be refunded and I'm paying more money for 1 less night. I absolutely understand what you are going through this company is a joke! And I am seeking legal advice

Lucy,

You have my complete sympathy. If your e=anything like me, it certainly takes the shine off the excitement of going on Holiday.

Just check your flight details when you get them. They made two mistakes in mine (although they will off course blame the airline). I'm flying Thomson, and even on the 321 Holiday itenary, it states I should receive an e-mail confirmation from the airline, and that I may be refused if I'm unable to present such a document. 321 told me that what was on their email was sufficient. Again, before they state it is and has never been a problem in the past.....The airline told me differently, and as it's them that's flying me, I believe them more than 321.

Again, checking directly with the Airline...I was then told my booking was under MR and NOT Miss. Enough for some airlines to refuse you already. Then the gentleman asked if I would like to add a baggage allowance, as I was only permiited Hand Luggage at that stage, despite booking and paying for 20kg allowance.

I went through all the details with the Thomson gentleman, corrected the errors and had him send me their email confirmation direct to me, instead of it going to 321???

I might add at this stage, that I only went direct to the Airline, because I know from prior experience that Thomson require you to fill in API (Advanced Passenger Information), prior to the flight, and again if this information isn't provided they can refuse you on the flight. To the uninitiated, there is no mention of this on the itinery you receive from 321. It states its a requirement for Wizz, BMI Baby, Ryanair etc., but NOT Thomson flights.

I was then forced to get in contact with 321 to get them to add on my Baggage allowance with the airline, which they duly did.

Looking at the itenary I received from 321, it does state I have a 20kg allowance, but the airline stated differently, and to be honest, if it wasn't for the fact I went direct to the airline, I would have arrived at the airport, and had to pay another baggage allowance.

So to recap:-

1. Double check with your airline your allowance
2. Make sure you will in the API
3. Ensure you get the airlines email confirmation.

I even went as far as checking with my hotel in Egypt to make sure they have my booking!!!

Yet again.....another example of 321 not being forth-coming with all relevant information.

All I can say Lucy, is that I hope you have a fantastic holiday, despite the debarcle.....Its 32c...enjoy xxxx

Without going round and round in circles again.

On your passport, there are no titles, just first names and surnames. With Thomson, you are not required to add any information before travel, the airlines that require online checkin are listed. We book some 3000 seats per month without issue. Easyjet also have the option to add information beforehand, but just last week I travelled by turning up at the airport with my passport.

Your flights are not booked direct with the Airline, neither is your hotel, it is booked through ourselves, calling the hotel for example to check you are booked may well get the response 'we have no booking in the name of Smith'. That is because you are not booked directly with the hotel, so you may not show on their system.

With regards to any additional fees, please just call any company on teletext for example, credit card fee £12 a person, online checkins £20 a person, booking fees £15 a person, call it what you like, every agent has their own fees for the service they provide, afterall, it is a business.

I feel you would rather post on here than just take our advice and enjoy the holiday. If you got to the airport and had to pay for baggage for any reason, we would refund you immediately.

2 years on this site of reviews with some 80,000 passengers sent, our complaint ratio is not even close to 1%. 15 complaints in here? Most resolved to satisfaction. But some people do like to make things sound worse, when in reality, complaints are relative to bookings made.

It seems as though you are picking through your booking trying to find a problem if anything. You booked a cheap deal, got exactly as you asked and are almost hoping something else goes wrong when you haven't even travelled yet.

We wish you a pleasant trip and kindly request you stop spamming your review. You made your point, and had your say. We will request this post is removed if it continues to be spammed with the same booking and the same issue that we have already answered on numerous occasions.

I have listened to the call, you were given the cost of the holiday and the charge on top for your bonding fee. I feel your review demonstrates exactly that too, which is a fair review of events. We pay high premiums to protect passengers when they travel. If for any reason the hotel is overbooked, airlines go bust etc, we will fully repatriate you and that is exactly what the bonding fee is for. On the phone call you still have the option to not go ahead with the booking if you wish not to pay the bonding fee, it is entirely your choice if you wish to proceed or not.

Both you and Mr Poole whilst being polite gave contradictory information about the issuing of it. You said it would be issued a few days aftre booking and Mr Poole when I spoke to him said it would be issued about 4 days before we fly, On both counts you are incorrect as having spoken direct to ATOL they inform me that the certificate should be issued at the time of booking and that is THE LAW. On another issue, Mr Poole when I spoke to him about the recording of my booking said he would get it for me but as of now I have not received it, could you please inform me as to when i can expect it.

Hi,

You indeed called us to book a holiday, to cut a long story short, the seats were no longer available, no money was taken from your card and you were offered alternatives. from time to time this happens with fluid pricing systems.

Having just listened back to the call, you spoke to our operator Stephen who was absolutely apologetic to the situation and offered you the next best options available. We refute fully that Stephen was rude at any point in the telephone call, he was nothing but helpful and sympathetic to the whole situation. He acted professionally throughout and cancelled down your booking when we couldn't find a solution together.

You are basing 'poor service' on the fact the holiday had sold out, something we have no control over, and once more to re-iterate, Stephen was not rude nor impatient at all in the telephone converstation. This comment is spurious and unfounded.

You have since spoken to the administration manager who has tried everything to help you.
