Website very poor, name and password work on the app won't on the website, over 30 password reset / user login details request over a one hour period nothing has been received. Sent an email and received an instant acknowledgement back, so my email is fine just there system is useless. Very over priced service and unhelpful staff.

Deutsche Bahn were fine in previous years. UNTIL this year. We booked a 12 hour sleeper from Paris to Hamburg. From previous experience we booked First Class to get a double berth sleeper which has a tiny "bathroom" cubicle with loo, washbasin & shower. We had booked 4 months in advance. They had our mobile numbers to contact us about problems. But, when we arrived at Gare de l'Est we found they had not even a 2nd Class sleeper on the train. What we were offered was berths in a SIX berth sleeper! It had been made up for four people & we were told we MUST share. We refused, partly because one of us had a dreadful cold & cough. The staff did listen to us, we got the compartment to ourselves but it was filthy. One berth was converted from a normal seat but with the seat back still in place, making the berth barely 50cm wide. It was the old type of seat with coarse fabric covered by a piece of sheet barely any wider. For covering we had a blanket inside a duvet cover. The warmth of our bodies released the stink of old urine from the blankets - we did without. There was no ventilation other than opening the top window - deafening on an express train. There was one toilet shared by all the other people in the carriage, for washing, too. We preferred our own dirt! Worst of all, when we reached Hamburg, the train had been connected to other carriages from Berlin & Munich - including some brand new sleeper carriages with full facilities. These were exactly what we should have had. We were told to apply to Deutsche Bahn head office for a refund of the First Class supplement. Still waiting.....
