The Surveyor arrived promptly to do the survey and confirmed that my property was suitable for cavity wall installation and that no internal drilling or scaffolding would be required. The company arrived on the agreed installation date almost on time and then the problems started. A couple of scruffy individuals arrived and started to look around my property and shake their heads. The surveyor had appeared to have missed 5 key issues that were now preventing the work from starting. As an example - I have a conservatory and had offered to install scaffolding at my expense but had not done so due to the surveyor advising that they had all of the equipment need for access. Another example was that they needed to carryout internal drilling despite the surveyor giving me a copy of the survey with the ‘no internal drilling box ticked’. When I complained to the installers they advised me that they had problem after problem with the surveyors. I spoke to their manager and got no joy and the installation was abandoned.
I have sent a letter of complaint to the company but have not received a response in the subsequent 3 weeks.
I will now be writing to the Edward Davey is the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change to complain. We should all do this as this company is being funded by Government money – our taxes.
