Gave Gas Safety Landlords a call to book in a Gas Cert. as my previous providers were messing me around with the punctuality and prices, so I changed provider. I am glad I did, this company is more than satisfactory, 5 minutes early, service took no longer than 20 minutes and reasonable, affordable prices. My Gas Safety Certificate failed, obviously I am unhappy about this but it was with good reason. The height requirement between the surface of my cooker and the chimney that runs above it was deemed a health and safety risk, the engineer explained that should it be left on accidentally or should gas be leaking, the property would fill with smoke or carbon monoxide due to the chimney being at the wrong height and not being able to direct the fumes to outside. Gas Safety Landlords make bold statements they sometimes cannot follow up. The engineer was a half hour late and my certificate came late because I had forgot to pay, I accept responsibility on my part but they didn't call me until 2 days after the service had been done to remind me to pay. It was all a bit longer than planned because of minor details that could have been avoided... but everyone makes mistakes, I have used them before and they are actually a great company, just not in this... I failed my Gas Certificate due to not having a safety chain for my cooker, I am so disappointed that I have been failed because of such minor details but after talking with management I understand his position totally and he explained that the consequences could have possibly been very fatal, he agreed to give me the chain free if I booked in another certificate which is fair I guess.. PGS Services Ltd has carried out two annual inspections for us. They have been professional, prompt and offered advice as well as performing the required safety inspection. The company was initially chosen because it is competitively priced and offered an appointment within a few days of call; this year they contacted us to remind us that it was due and arranged this year's visit painlessly, at a time which was convenient for us.
