The plumber was due between 09:00-13:00hrs.I was called soon after 09:00 and told there was a problem getting to me (broken down van) and the appointment was rescheduled for 13:00-16:00hrs. The Company did hear from me - I wrote to the Managing Director! Unfortunately he/she (I did ask for contact details, but they weren't forthcoming!) didn't do me the courtesy of a response. I have been in contact with Customer Relations and I wasn't satisfied with their response. However, I really don't wish to waste anymore of my time on this matter. If I was MD of the Able Group, I'd seriously look at the reviews (1&1/2 Stars!) and sort out the quality/reliability issues of this company, while there is still a company to sort out!

Booked the engineer to fit the dishwasher connection. Over the phone they said £60 an hour and after the job done they charged me £60 for half and hour. THey took 2 hours for the work and asked me to pay £240+material+VAT cost. rude customer service and was threatening me to take me to the court if I do not pay the money for the work done. It was clearly conveyed to me while booking that it is £60 hour and on that basis I have booked the engineer. I am not a fool to pay more money for the dishwasher work then paying £200 for the dishwasher itself. Atleast have some professionalism otherwise you will not very long in the business. The engineer took my signature on paper without writing the cost of the job and at the end it saw it was written after he took my signature.

5% of audience will recommend your service which is true. look at the negative feedback here. shame on the company and service, what is the top management doing, filling the pockets with money without bothering about the customer satisfaction. You guys deserve more such negative feedback on the service you provide. At least have a courtesy to apologies on the mistake you done for charging more money then asked for.

Do not trust this company to turn up asked for help on a Sunday lunch time as my boiler was not working they promised that they would be there before 5pm as I had no hot water or heating . At 3.45pm they rang me to say that they would not be turning out but that they would try and get there between 7and 8pm Monday evening absolutlely disputed with there work ethics they are supposed to be a 24/7 emergency company So be very wary off them… Read Full Review

I have contacted them for my Old boiler repair, engineer came on 19th Jan spend 1hr for just to check and came for a solution that fan is not working, they charged me £172 for 1 hr, next day he brought recycled fan for £244...plus he charged fitting total cost me altogether £596 for replacing with old fan. On three separate occasions I tried to organise an emergency plumber with this company in Salisbury: the first cancelled at 10 am when they were meant to attend 8-11 am; the second never turned up; the third cancelled before he was meant to come. “Shockingly poor customer service”

Booked Able drains to unblock a persistently blocked shower, so i did ask if they could check the pipe from the outside. No complaints about the engineer as he showed up on time and was very pleasant. It appeared to be fixed by using a plunger, but the next day when tried to use the shower (with the trap back in), its still filling up faster than water can drain, about 2.5 inches. I called Able out to fit a glass electric cooker. They wanted someone to be present to sign for work. I arranged a trusted neighbour to be at the property. They did not go to the neighbour to meet and to wait for the work to be completed, I called up at 4.30 to see where the engineer was to be told he will be there with in 20-25 min. I do remember this , you were not at the address so you took what the person at the address told you as fact even though they signed the document to agree the times and the work completed. You were not ripped off but charged for work completed. As you are a third party in this matter your comments are all heresay.

“89 year old left without heat or water!”

My fathers central heating broke down on 17 Dec. The Able Group were contacted and asked to send a heating engineer to repair it. He turned up on 22 Dec, looked at the boiler, wrote out a condemned sticker for the boiler, charged £72 and left. I think you are missing the point here. Of course the heating was not working when the engineer called. That's why the Company was called in the first place! Several issues. The company was contacted on the 17th Dec and they said someone would come out the next day, but it was actually the 22nd Dec when an 'engineer' arrived. When he left he said he was going to look for a part and would ring back within the hour but never did. He had condemned the boiler so why say he was going to look for a new part. Someone from the company called back on the 23 Dec to say the 'part' was not available so my dad would need a new boiler and they would get him a quote which they didn't do. All this time wasting and it left it too late to get anyone else out before Christmas to install a new boiler. LEAVING A VULNERABLE 88 YEAR OLD WITHOUT HEAT OR HOT WATER FOR THE WHOLE OF THE CHRISTMAS PERIOD! When I rang customer services the woman's attitude was one of couldn't care less and her response was that they 'weren't just going to install a new boiler because someone was going to have to pay for it!'. Of course they were, 'my dad'.' He wasn't asking for charity, he just wanted to have his heating sorted out.

“Small plumbing jobs, three visits. Still not fixed....”

Moved into a house. Had washing to do. Quick to come out to assess work. Replaced two sink wastes and attached a screw tap for our washing machine. Left in an hour on 3/12/15.Cost £272.40. But no water reaching washing machine so could not use it. Plumber said to ask previous owner if there was another stop tap. Asked prev owner,and there was no other. Initial conversation with them was good - very helpful, made a booking for someone to come out and quote on a window replacement for the following day and also a plumber to attend later that week. I've learnt my lesson and thought it would be a good idea after having 4 plumbers come to site, quote and then not show up to do the job. They're not interested in small jobs like changing one window and resealing a shower. I don't need a whole new bathroom installed or double glazing for the whole house... its been so frustrating!

National companies pose no threat to local Tradesmen, many locals break the law daily in the way they trade by not giving customers cancellation rights , proper documentation etc.There are often no come-backs for poor workmanship and no guarantees. This company is under the spotlight everyday and trades honestly and openly. If you are a local trader you are only under threat because you fail to do things as they should be done. and unlike us you can duck under the wire. Call us anytime rather than writing the same old message on every review, we will be only to happy to speak to you.

a plumber came to check my boiler and found apparently a technical fault and asked to order a new circuit board and during this time I shall stay in a cold house. I paid 86£ for this intervention. My friend came by and opened the combi boiler and switch on one the button then the boiler starts to work again in two minutes!! Was the friend a qualified gas installer/repairer. Working on a combi boiler is not supposed to be done by a "friend" you could have had a major issue on your hands.

I did call and got short shrift by some unpleasant woman. At the end of the day I don't care about the discount but am more concerned about misleading advertising ("installation" of electrical appliances involves more than just plumbing) and false promises (old item was not recycled as promised).

You can have a go at me as much as you like but your rating is justified as far as I am concerned - end of.

After explaining that we needed this work carried out as soon as possible, the engineer was here after a day to price the job up so far so good, however it then took another 3 days to get an actual quote for the work. I called up for a plumber to fix my sink to the wall and fix the waste pipe which was leaking water was told they would be here between 8-11 in the morning no one arrived at all till 2 pm in the afternoon. he then could not put the sink on the wall and took 4 hours to try and do the job. he said he had fixed the waste pipe but he had not as I found out a few days later when I saw water all over the floor.
