“Rubbish Toy and NO REFUND!!!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Roger546874561 on 11/01/2016

My experience with Smiths Toys was HORRIFIC!!! I've asked for a refund several times, beginning from the very same day I received the toy and to date I still haven't been refunded. I placed my order back in November 2015 and it's now the 11th of January. Furthermore, they are not even replying to my emails anymore. I am about to take legal action to recover my losses, as this seams to be the only way to get through to them. They probably get away with people just giving up (maybe this is actually their game), but they have no idea who they are dealing with. What's right is right and I will get my money back, no matter how long it will take.

When I first received the parcel I was surprised to find how light it was and I actually wondered if there was anything inside. The large remote controlled car was actually in the box and it was probably the very lightest toy I've ever picked up. The car was rubbish. They typical Chinese rubbish that you would never buy in a shop, or want to come across at any point of your life. To start with it was broken and even if it wasn't, it would have broken within minutes of playing. The plastic was extremely thin, so thin that a child could have broken it as if it was made out of cardboard. Actually I think that cardboard would have been stronger. There was no battery compartment cover and the extremely light battery wouldn't stay in place. The plastic clip designed to hold the batter in place, didn't match the battery size, so it didn't close. If it worked and if I was to keep it, I would have had to use tape in order to keep the battery in place. I know I've mentioned it already, but I was shocked at how thin the plastic was; when I picked up the car with my hand, the body of the car bent all over as if it was paper. I didn't know that plastic could be made so thin.

As a whole it was a horrible experience and it looks like it's far from over. It goes without saying that I strongly discourage anyone from doing business with this very dodgy company. Be on your guard against them, you have been warned.
