Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

I have only ever used smyths 3 times and every time has been a disappointing experience. The first time they debited my card twice for the one item causing me to go overdrawn and incur bank charges. If this wasn't bad enough, it then cost me a fortune to call them and report the problem as their phone charges were not clearly visible ( I reported them for this!) the second time I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and attempted to use their click and collect service. I reserved the item and drove for nearly an hour to my nearest store to collect the item only to find they were unavailable. I spoke to the manager who was neither respectful or apologetic leaving me with one very disappointed child. This last time I thought I would try their online order and delivery service and yet again have been left disheartened. The couriers they use clearly tell lies and the customer service department have NO idea what is happening with their orders. After tracking my items it claimed that they had tried to deliver but I was not in, this was not the case and I had in fact been in all week! I reported this to smyths customer services who kept promising me that my item would be delivered the next day, it wasn't!!!! Then the next day, still no delivery. I was then promised a delivery slot between hours that I had specifically said I couldn't do due to school pick up!!
The items did eventually turn up, an hour and a half after the 2 hour delivery slot.
I recommend that you use this company at your own peril, if you don't mind being charged twice for something, like disappointing your children and have the time and money to call and play cat and mouse to chase an order then smyths is the company for you! If not then avoid like the plague, they have no regard for their customers and judging by all the other reviews are clearly not doing anything to address their problems!!
