This adventure fulfilled a lifelong dream to experience the Northern Lights and Norwegian culture first hand. The ship and facilities onboard were good, offshore excursions were excellent although it would be beneficial for the local guides to provide a little more historic/technical information. We were excited when we read about The Big Journey Company's escorted trip to Norway and the Northern Lights emphasis. Seeing the Aurora Borealis has been on our bucket list and we jumped at the chance to go with Diamond Resorts International and The Big Journey. We were somewhat apprehensive about the temperatures in Norway but the friendly people at each excursion provided appropriate attire for the activity. Extraordinary beyond words; unexpected sightings (lioness stalk, kill, feast, leopard kill/feed, two male lions feasting on young zebra, python stretched across the road, etc). So was ever attentive, overseeing everyone's needs/wants. Ngochi was a walking encyclopedia and an experienced driver. Both had a sense of humor and kindly personalities. The safari to Kenya was our first group trip. Everything about the safari exceeded our expectations. From picking us up at the airport, until returning us there. Previously we had never heard of Big Journey, but we would not hesitate a minute to book with them again. The safari camps far exceeded our expectations, the food was out of this world and all waiters and staff were very friendly. Our guides were superb; so personal, so knowledgable, so skilled. Everything about their Kenya Safari is first class but with an affordable price. Each day of our 10 day trip topped the previous day. We saw most all the wild animal species and up close and personal from our pop top van. We also saw a live pursuit and catch of females lions catching a wart hog and also saw male lions feeding on a zebra carcus and a leapord feeding on a gazille he had hauled up a tree. 4 optional side trips were also interesting and affordable. This was our first ever Safari and we were pleasantly suprised how good all the accommodation, food and service was considering we were in remote locations. We have now been on 3 tours with The Big Journey Company and each has been superb. Each tour gave us a taste of the country visited and had been organised to ensure that the activities rolled seamlessly into each other, with a local guide to provide the information necessary to appreciate everything. We have had two holidays with The Big journey Company. Both were fabulous and great experiences that will last long in our memories: Our first was a seven night safari in Kenya and a three day stay on edge of the Indian Ocean, just North of Mombasa.
