What can I say? After having been to London and missed my chance to see these amazing locations, I felt it necessary to return just for this purpose. After much research, I chose to use the services of Premium Tours. Not only did they come highly recommened but they also offered the best tour for the money.
After having issues getting to our pickup location, we called to let them know we were on our way, just running a few minutes behind. We arrived only to find that the tour bus had chosen to wait for us. Right off the bat, our trip had a positive note. After taking our seats, there were several more stops to be made on our way out of the city.
The drive to Bath was very pleasant, relaxing and entertaining. The people seated across from us were quite goofy and kept us laughing the entire trip. We arrived in Bath right ontime. The weather was dreary but the scenery was beautiful. Sad to say, my camera died almost immediately after arrival so I didn't get much in the way of photos there. I had to charge it on our way to the next location. Bath was wonderful but would have been better if it had not been so packed with children running around not being watched by their parents. There were quite a few rude people there as well.
I was glad to hop back on the bus to head to Lacock when the time came. Being a huge Pride and Prejudice fan (and Harry Potter as well) I was excited at the prospect of going to the small village where they were filmed. Of course, seeing the home of the man who invented photography only added to the highlight of the stop. Stopping at the George Inn for food and cider made for a nice respite after having sat on the bus for so long and knowing that another long stint awaited us. The food was tasty and the cider even better (I had 2 pints...).
After the break, it was time for the highlight and the main reason for the trip, STONEHENGE! To say the least, it was the most amazing and tranquil experiences of my life. Just being able to step inside the circle, to stand where antient druids once held rituals, put me in awe. One of my favorite parts (sad but true) was seeing the graffiti carved into the stones. Seeing names and dates, almost 200 years old, engraved upon the standing stones as one would see on a desk in a modern day highschool just shows that certain things will never change...
As we made our way back to the city, it was sad to know that the day and our time with our new friends was coming to a close. It was a dream that I had always had, to make my way to Stonehenge and thanks to Premium Tours, if finally came true. Also, I made one very great friend that I still talk to this day, more than a year later.
Thanks Premium Tours!!
