A word of warning to visitors to Kruger National Park. Stay FAR away from the restaurant/ablution /shop at Afsal, which is midway between Malelane and Skukuza. I'm not sure what has happened there, as it has always been a pleasure to stop there for a meal or simply to use the shop. Wont do that again soon!!!
- The facilities are looking run down.
- Most of the food menu was not available and simply covered with bits of
paper on the menu board.
- The staff were the surliest, rudest, unapproachable in the entire park.
- The Kudu wors and pap was shocking. Wors was cooked in the morning and
then kept in a steel container on a wall. When the wors was taken out it
looked like biltong it was so dry and cold. Even trying to warm it up on
the fire could not make it palatable...

cant see this changing soon, so STAY AWAY from Afsal!!!
