“Pick up was delayed almost an hour. Other than that...”

Written on: 25/11/2014 by BrennenHodges (1 review written)

Pick up was delayed almost an hour. Other than that everything was fine (tour Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, Oxford). I liked all 3 places that I visited, however, I felt that the sightseeing around Oxford was very limited. It is a beautiful place but I felt I saw very little of it. The tour guide was very professional and kept us informed as well as guided us well with the tour. The driver was professional and we had a pleasant journey to and fro. This is my second tour with Evans & Evans and… Read Full Review

“Evan Evans - Jack the Ripper Tour”

Written on: 20/11/2014 by JasperBrown (1 review written)

This tour is a ripoff. It lasted half the time advertised, did not cover the areas it was advertised, we made a 20 minute stop at an Indian and Thai Restaurant (possible graft???), the tour guide rushed through the entire tour as if he had better things to do and he spend a good portion of his time practicing his Italian with a couple that spoke it. We have complained to Evan Evans Tours and no response has been given. Customer Service does not seem very important… Read Full Review

Thank-you for the feedback Jasper - if you let me know your booking reference and the date you did the tour, I will look into it. Regards, David

“Tony was the best tour guide ever”

Written on: 17/11/2014 by jclukas (1 review written)

I know it says no staff but honestly he made the tour worthwhile for me (and the group I was with). He was so knowledgeable and sincerely interested in helping us enjoying the the day as much as possible. He was very energetic and extremely friendly. He is wonderful. I wish we could've had more time at Bath. I felt like I didn't have nearly enough time to see everything… Read Full Review

“Fantastic Tour!”

Written on: 17/11/2014 by MichelleChilders (1 review written)

We had a man for a tour guide and he was spectacular. He was humorous, knowledgeable, and gave insightful information that I couldn't have gotten elsewhere. Gave great recommendations for lunch and provided listening boxes so I could hear even when I wasn't near him. Had a good balance of guided time and free time and pointed out some really interesting things I wouldn't have known if I'd been there on my own. Well worth the money and the time. If you can, get him. He's incredible… Read Full Review

“Small group gets extra attention”

Written on: 16/11/2014 by Jamaru336 (1 review written)

Leo is an excellent driver, and if you're lucky enough to sit close to the front of the coach, a font of knowledge. He pointed out many sites offering brief stories. He also knows a bunch of great places to visit in London… Read Full Review

“A Nice Trip”

Written on: 10/11/2014 by minnervaah (1 review written)

it was a nice experience, the bus was very good, the information during the trip about touristic places and curious details were very useful and fun. Don't use Citymapper to get there, it send us to the opposite street, so we almost loose the coach. There at Stonehenge the driver picked up our tickets and provide us with an audio guide. The exhibition was ok, I would recommend to see it at the end so you will have more time to walk to the rocks and enjoy the beautiful landscape, we just had 2… Read Full Review

“Very good experience”

Written on: 05/11/2014

the tour is great, the staff very gentle and competent; just a little too much tight schedule for Windsor castle given the long queue at the security check. The booking process has been a little annoying because the system didn't allow me to book for 5 people altogether raising irrelevant errors, I had to do 2 separate bookings for 2 and 3 people. Overall it's been a very good experience and I would recommend to others… Read Full Review

“We had a blast!”

Written on: 27/10/2014 by panamakate (1 review written)

We loved getting out of the hustle and bustle of London and getting a chance to see the quaint British countryside. Our guide was really nice, funny and knowledgeable. It was a really nice grouping of sites to see - Oxford, Cotswolds, Stratford On Avon and Warwick Castle. I had lived in this area as a child and I would recommend to anybody who doesn't want to hassle with renting a car. Easy and stress-free way to see the countryside. Thank you!… Read Full Review

“London Night Lights Tour”

This is a fantastic tour. Easy to find boarding point. Punctual arrival of bus. The tour is lively and informative. I saw sights of London and learnt background and history of so many sites. I could ask questions about places we saw and had good warning for upcoming photo opportunities. The time flew by because the tour was so much fun… Read Full Review

“Would not reccommend, ever”

Written on: 19/10/2014 by MissMasters (1 review written)

Very, very, hard to find the location to get on the bus. I was not the only one that could not find it. 90% of calls that I heard were people just trying to find the place. There were no toilets on the bus. The bus driver was not friendly, and did not give any instruction once we got there, you had to figure most things out on your own. On the way home he stopped near a tube station and told everyone they had to get off, and once again gave no instruction where the tube station was. For those… Read Full Review

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your trip to Stonehenge.

We have 4 pickup points on the Stonehenge Express: Royal National Hotel (Russell Square), The Original London Visitor Centre (Trafalgar Square), Evan Evans Tours Office (Victoria), and the Millennium Gloucester Hotel (Gloucester Road). We are aware that many of our passengers are not from London and have a map on the website showing the pick-up locations to try to make it easier for you to find your chosen starting point.

There are no toilet facilities on the Evan Evans coaches - again, we mention this on the website under the FAQ section, but I understand that this can be an inconvenience for some passengers and I apologise.

With regards to changing departure dates - our policy is to refund in full for any cancellations up to 24 hours prior to departure. Within 24 we will no longer refund, but are happy to amend the travel date (subject to availability) up to 1 hour prior to departure. We don't believe this is unreasonable and as it's included in our terms and conditions, you shouldn't feel the need to threaten us - unless you didn't turn up for the tour and notified us after the fact, in which case the date change would be at the discretion of the Reservations Supervisor on the day.

With regards to the time spend at Stonehenge, we do not advertise 2 hours ... but we try to give you at least 1 hour 45 minutes at Stonehenge.

We have checked the coach tachometer for the Stonehenge Express on Friday 10 October: the coach arrived at Stonehenge at 15:01 and departed at 17:00 - this is slightly longer than scheduled, but allows for some time to get from the visitor centre to Stonehenge itself.

Returning to London the driver made a few stops to try to drop off everyone at a convenient location. The first stop was at Gloucester Road underground station at 19:06, with further stops at Hyde Park Corner, and Marble Arch and finishing at the Royal National Hotel at 19:40. I'm aware that on the website it states that that the tour finishes at Victoria Train Station and this is normally where we drop off, but we were running a little late and it looks like the driver went our of his way to return passengers to the two hotels that we picked up from. Once again I apologise if this was not what you expected.

Regards, David

“Good highlights”

Written on: 19/10/2014 by cfMcCall315 (1 review written)

Our guide was interesting and easy to follow. However it would have been better if he went more into the history of the places we were visiting, or just England in general. It was also a pretty long ride back to London from Bath. Would be good if we made a toilet stop… Read Full Review

“El tour en general estuvo bien: el autobús era...”

Written on: 16/10/2014 by Lamar238 (1 review written)

Read Full Review
