Recommend with reservations

Returned from the Western Wonders Tour in September. Very busy but distances are great so understandable. The only reservation we have is the quality and situation of the hotels on tour. Many of them were not very close to the towns and cities we were visiting and when you are only there for one night you need to be right in the centre. Also several of the hotels were motels, one was like a 18-30 holiday with young people, psychedelic walls and a Mexican restaurant, not to be recommended on a coach tour! We stayed at one motel in Sonora which was dirty, brown water coming out of the taps and noisy, old air conditioning, right on the street so you did not feel safe.

I have sent a complaint to Archers about this but to date have not had a response other than a letter telling me I might have to wait 56 days before I get one! We have been with Archers many times before and have been very happy but if this is an example of new policy cutting corners by booking cheaper hotels we will not be going again. Tour Direct and Coach driver were excellent and made the holiday even more enjoyable.
