We spent 8 days in Andalusia on an Archers tour, starting at Malaga and travelling to Granada, Cordoba, Seville and Gibraltar. Our travel guide was excellent, as was our driver. The first hotel in Malaga was 4-star and situated right next to the train station. Ideal location and, although we were only there for just over a half day, we were able to visit the Picasso Gallery and a lot of the historic sites. Being there at Easter, we were also able to enjoy the processions. Spent 2 days in Granada, which was wonderful. Hotel very well situated, a bit noisy in the nights, but probably to be expected in the centre of the town. Staff were very good, had read in previous reports that they were not very friendly, but this was certainly not the case for us. Included excursion was to the Alhambra, the highlight of the tour. We were able to stay at the Alhambra and not return on the coach, but make our own way back later in the day, if we chose to do this. It was easy to walk back to the town, all down hill, and we got to spend a lot more time, visiting parts of the Alhambra that couldn't be included in the tour.
The next place was Cordoba, which was another lovely city. Hotel good again and food and staff very good. Wonderful cathedral, not to be missed.
Hotel provided a special set Easter meal and we sat around large tables and got to know each other a little better.
We then travelled to Seville, a lovely city, where there were many Easter processions taking place. So many wonderful sites to see.
Our guide gave us so much information that we could visit the places ourselves or go on the organised trips. On foot, we were able to see all that we wanted within the time we were there but would definitely like to visit all these places again.
The wine was also very cheap in the bars and our hotels, which we had't expected in these cities. Also, tapas were often seved with the drinks.
A great holiday. would definitely recommend it
