Have been using Yorkshire for years and live in a hard water area we have had no problems but recently the tea has had a great deal of tea-scum on it, even though we have an under sink water filter fitted, the funny thing is that going back to PG Tips has cured the problem, no tea-scum!

I have drunk Yorkshire tea for many years, I liked the strength and full flavour, and always take a stash with me when on holiday to guarantee a decent cuppa. However that has changed. The teabags I have purchased in recent months deliver an insipid cuppa, despite leaving it to brew for longer. Often I have to use 2 bags in my mug but the flavour is just not there anymore. in At first I thought it was me til I read these reviews. As some other folk have said, will try other brands to see if anything better out there, but not holding my breath. Shame on you Taylors, for selling out on quality for profit. You've let Yorkshire down, and hugely disappointed fans of your tea, big time.

I tatally agree. A while ago, when Taylor`s changed the bags and the glue, I thought that like another well known brand, they`d also change the tea to make more money, but they didn`t.
But it seems that they have now, and it`s so much of a let down, I now drink Tesco`s own, but am still looking.

I have been drinking Yorkshire tea for several years. I usually leave it stewing for 5 minutes and go back and put the milk in. I use filtered water so I don't get film in my cup. The last several cups have not been up to par. I was trying to figure out what I have done differently. I've now come to the conclusion it's the tea bags. They seem to be flavourless and weak. I've now just gone off tea altogether. I don't know where to go from here. Guess I'm going to have try PG tips and typhoo again, cause I can't bear the dirty dish water.

Last year, Yorkshire Tea loose leaf tea was expensive, but worth it. A great brew: good colour, strong, lovely flavour. A few months ago I was happy to find that Y.T. bags also had been imported and were on 'continuous sale' in 'big box stores' here. First-time ever ads appeared on TV as well. You DO get what you pay for, too bad I bought so many boxes before tasting the stuff. So much for trusting a company to be consistent. I would not recommend this tea to anyone, it's weak, tasteless and undrinkable; a complete disappointment and in my case, a waste of money.

Used to make a wonderful strong cup of tea, bit now it's awful, no strength and no taste. Very sad, but won't be buying again. ????

I don't know what changes are made to this tea but is is now no better than average. I used to brew my Yorkshire Tea for 5 minutes and got a good, strong, brew. Timing has now gone up to 8 minutes and it is still a weak, fairly tasteless, mug of tea. I have a large box and I won't waste it (I am a typical, no waste, Yorkshireman) but will now have to try putting two tea bags in a mug, until I find a suitable replacement.

What has happened? The famous tasty strong cup that we all loved now only resembles a supermarket budget own brand. Very disappointing. Time to find a new brand.

Having been drinking Yorkshire Gold for a good number of years now and I have always been extremely satisfied with the taste, quality and strength. However the last 3 boxes I have bought from 3 different stores during the last few weeks, have been absolutely revolting. With a flavour not unlike a linseed oil. I have an excellent water filter system, this makes sure the water has a consistency of taste and quality. I'm now very disappointed with this product and don't think I will purchase any longer. I really don't know what tea I can replace it with ????

Me and the missus always get Yorkshire teabags, and hadn't really noticed any change in the taste. Today I found a tupperware tub in my office drawer that I put some Yorkshire teabags in about 18 months ago. I just made a cuppa with one of these teabags and it was a revelation, it tasted wonderful! I don't know much about growing tea and whether one years harvest could taste different to another years, but if an 18 month old teabag tastes better than one from a freshly opened pack, then this is a problem! Going to try some other brands and see if there are any nice ones out there.

I agree with this, the taste of late is NOT up yo the old Yorkshire tea standards. It's weak & I've had better cuppas from a 'no name' brand from that store beginning with an A!! Come on Yorkshire Tea, what have you been doing to your brew??

Yorkshire tea was our go-to tea since forever. However, now they taste like a budget bulk buy rubbish teabag. Whoever is responsible could have it on them, a catastrophic profit loss for Taylor’s. I will never buy YT again. Not just because they are so bad, but because sooooo many people have complained, and I have yet to see one single acknowledgment by the manufacturer of the problem. The arrogance. We’re off, and so is the whole of my extended family. I will never reward failure and arrogance with custom. Sad.

Came across this review while going online to check if something different is now being done when processing Yorkshire Tea, since I am getting the same experience. Think I will just give up and try others now then.

I have been a staunch supporter of Yorkshire Tea ever since it began. I converted most of the people I know to it. Whilst I don't strong tea, the strength of flavour was something I always looked forward to with my first cup of the day. Something has drastically changed the flavour. There is what I can only describe as a vegetable flavour that overrides the flavour of the tea. I keep trying it, in the hope that I might get used to it. But sadly, I don't think that's going to happen. Take me off the Christmas and Birthday card list please - it was good while it lasted !

I have bought this for years. Then we had splitting tea bags. Now you have given us an awful perfumed, weak cup of rubbish. Goodbye

Yorkshire tea is a reasonably good cuppa when it's good but it varies so much from box to box. Why is this?! One box will make a decent cup of tea then the next box (same water, same teapot, same kettle, same brew time) makes a wishy washy cup of nothing. It doesn't seem to vary from bag to bag but literally from box to box. I've had to resort to throwing whole boxes away and am considering going back to PGtips.

Me and my husband have been buying Yorkshire tea for as long as I can remember but over the last few months they have changed dramatically , first the bags kept splitting and now they taste so different, not something you would expect for something that costs so much, like a lot of your reviews we are also trying out other brands as we are very disappointed, Mrs ward Leeds

Are they putting less tea in the bags,? Used to always buy Yorkshire tea because it was good and strong but no more.

I agree. They used to advertise '1 bag will make 2 cups" but they stopped mentioning that on the box too. I suspect they're using a weaker, cheaper, inferior blend. They used to print tokens on the box too that you could collect and exchange for tea cake, tea towels etc but those stopped. Then their bags got weaker and started splitting. Seems to me that Yorkshire tea is now one of the premium priced yet poor teas. Even with a 5 minute brew, good mash in the cup and little milk, it now looks and tastes weak. I don't buy it any more.

We have been using these tea bags for years and suddenly the in the last month the bags keep breaking open and swamping the tea with almost a dust like tea instead of tea leaves. What are you doing making your tea so aweful the tea is almost undrinkable. We pay a premium for your strong tea so don’t expect this situation to occur. We are currently trying other makes.

We have drunk this for years as the best tea we could find but this is now not what it used to be, weaker now and far less taste, time for a change now.

Having to increase number of tea bags to make a decent pot! So, we buy more tea bags than before! Clever move by Taylor's? Time to change brands, I think!

I totally agree, I`m also looking elsewhere now. It`s a shame, but there is no substitute for a good cuppa and Taylors have blown it .
