I bought a 7 inch Samsung Galaxy tablet for my wife as it offered a lot of fun and usefulness in a handbag sized package. Highly rated across most review sites, the Samsung Galaxy Tav 10.1 is hailed as being slimmer and lighter than the iPad 2 and TechRadar think it is the perfect tablet for watching movies in the car or acting as an eReader. The tablet does not feature a USB port but does have a front facing 2MP camera and rear facing 8MP camera.
PCAdvisor felt that the previous 7inch Tab was a chunky slab with a plastic screen but prefer the 10.1 glass front and ultra slim design. Having to charge the Galaxy Tab 10.1 by a separate adapter and not via USB is a slow process with a near drained battery taking over 7 hours to fully charge. Screen sensitivity is not as responsive as the iPad and browsing web pages appears to be slower too.
Users on Amazon like the great sound that is produced from the Galaxy Tab 10.1 inbuilt speakers but some were worried about the lack of a HDMI or SD card slot which meant they had to buy separate adapters or external devices. Most are impressed by the build quality and do not mind the plastic casing. They liked the supplied applications for transferring between the Tab 10.1 and their PC. Overall most were very pleased they had purchased the Galaxy Tab 10.1.
