I am a screen junkie, I LOVE a sharp display. My iPhone 4S blew me away with the retina display. Sure I wish it was just a bit larger but overall it is a pleasure to look at. When then announced the iPad 3 (yes I know they don't call it that but it gets confusing to call it the "new" iPad) I was very excited that they bumped up the screen resolution. this the most amazing ipad ever. the display is amazing. when you swipe it it feels smoother than the ipad 2. if you add a keyboard case it will look like a laptop. i love how i can take pictures with he amazing display. i would recomend this to people are a lot on the computer and hate carrying their laptop with them. but what also was cool you get to pick wifi plus cellur option were get internet even if your in a train or something like that does not let you call from or get... Having bought the new iPad for my wife Christmas 2012 we have had a month to enjoy the new version and compare it to the previous model. If you have not ever used an iPad then I would definitely recommend trying one, they are fantastic tools and will change the way you browse the Internet and read news articles (some play games on there as well :-) ) The point of this review though is to say I would not upgrade this time around. The new IPAD is absolutely one of the best hand held devices i have ever purchased. The biggest surprise was the built in double sided camera, this has allowed to to have lots of fun with the IPAD. The first IPAD was great, however did not come with the built in camera and therefore this is why i love the new version more. I'm a PC girl, this is my first tablet and it has blown me away with it's style, ease of use and versatility, not to mention portability. The new ipad is just a pleasure to use for work and a treat to play around with at home. I thought I would use it mostly for music, but I watch a lot of tv, play games, read, you name it, even the odd jigsaw! Worth every penny, there is rarely a day when I don't use it. (read more)

A the end of last weekI have purchased an iPad 3 32gb off of a website it was a bundle which included a leather flip case, in car charger and screen protectors for £570.00 in white. I have never really paid a whole lot of attention to the iPads before but i am extremely impressed for what this little piece of kit does!! people say there are a lot of new features and it is much better, but the problem is: the ipad 2 is really similar to this new one, and every year apple releases the same product with lots of improvements, but as i said before, there's almost no difference, so why buying something more expensive if you have virtually the same product. i've compared both and i can't distinguish between them, but one thing that i noticed is that the ipad 2 is lighter. so, what i'd say about that, if you're... Superb peice of kit, I've just bought one for my elderly mum who has eyesight troubles. She loves it and can make the internet larger for her to see with a flick of the fingers. She even finds the apps and programmes much easier than her laptop, an amazing piece of kit, not just for the young and trendy. (read more)

I love my iPad2 - and I recently purchased a iPad3 for my husband. Hwoever now I have put them side by side - I cannot tell them apart. The new Ipad3 is heavier and bulkier than the iPad2 - I cannot see the difference in screens for all the "retina hoopla" out there. So, my advice is buy an iPad 2 (they're lighter and cheaper..) I already own an iPad2 so I decided to buy muy hubbie his own for his birthday. When I visited the local Apple store theyhad both 2 and 3 alongside each other. The ipad3 is heavier and bigger than ipad2 - and I cannot see the difference in screen resolution. To me anyway, the whole point of a ipad is to not lug a heavy laptop around so I would recommend you to buy the (now, much) cheaper ipad2 and pass ipad3 by.. (read more)

I have been using Apple products since the late 80's and I have to confess that when it comes to their products I am biased. Now that that is out of the way, the iPAD2 is without doubt a fantastic product. It is fantastic if you want to surf the internet while watching TV. If you want to do more complex tasks then this product is not for you. (read more)

WOW, screen is incredible! I upgraded from an iPad 1 straight to 3 so hadn't used the iPad 2 and find this amazing! Does everything my old Ipad did, but so much more beautifully and a lot faster. (read more)

I guess it depends on what you use it for. Graphics yes definitely better then the previews version. If you are into games you might want to spend the extra $100 and get the ipad 2. Faster processor. (read more)

Don't get me wrong I like the ipad i have done since ipad2. but i was a bit disappointed when i actually got to to look at one yesterday. I went down to PC world and had to ask which is the new iPad which was a great start. For weeks i was hearing how great this retina screen is and how everything pops out at you. Last week was a blip, due to me spending much of the past two weeks rwieveing and testing iPad apps and little else. The balance will be back to normal next week. However, I take exception of me having not reviewed a non-HD app in weeks . The week before last, nine apps were covered, only one of which was an iPad one. The week before that was iPad-heavy, but still had 3 of 7 reviews being for the iPhone, and the week before that had 6 iPhone reviews and 3 iPad ones.

How can you say no difference with the retina display?
The graphics quality compare to the ipad 2 is so much nicer!
