I've been buying from Gems Tv since 2006 and considering the amount I've kept - around 50 pieces - have had very few problems and consider them a great company to deal with.

Recently, I had a number of pieces valued for insurance purposes and was delighted when every single piece bought from them was valued at a much higher cost to replace than what I paid - between four to nearly ten times the amount!

The prices they start the auctions are NOT an indication of value, as some of their presenters regularly state, but just an amount to start from but of course, one does tend to think that the item might cost about that in a jewellers on the high street and works well as a marketing ploy but can be a bit annoying, I agree, as another reviewer also stated.

Also, sometimes the pieces look a lot more impressive on the screen than they do once you have them home: for example a lovely London Topaz ring with blue diamond accent stones on the shoulder that I could barely see and I did pass comment on this to their customer services: that I'd rather pay a little more and get visible accent stones!

I also love learning more about precious and semi-precious stones; this has been an interest of mine since I was a child and sometimes I'll just order a piece or two to have a look at them if I'm not overly familiar with the gem. I also appreciate the interest and contributions they make to the areas these wonderful stones are mined from.
