I have been a member of C&C for 2 non consecutive yrs. Even after the 10% members' discount their prices are expensive. I have probably ordered no more than a dozen times.
1) Once there was a very good offer, I ordered and I bulked up the order so that the P&P per item goes down. The parcel came without the item on offer – OK, I believed it a genuine mistake, and they refunded me the item cost. And I thought I could get a bargain!
2) There were a couple more times when I emailed in with some questions – suitability of their product and warranty, and I got no answer/acknowledgement so I didn’t buy the products.
3) This time they sent me the wrong item. I rang up and took 20 minutes (at 10p per minute) to report their mistake. I was told to take my packet to a collection point. I drove there and was told I needed a bar code ie should have paid £3.99 for the service. The journey took me almost a hour and 10 miles return. I emailed them and asked for advice. I got an automated reply saying they would contact me. I waited for five days, nothing happened. So I took packet to the PO and paid £1.10 for postage. I have been offered the price of the item as refund, but not the £2.99 delivery and with no apology.
I have just emailed them asking for full refund as it was their mistake, and an apology/recognition of the trouble I have been caused. I am looking to lodging a formal complaint with the Fair Trading Office.
I definitely won’t be buying from them again.
I won’t renew my membership when it expires next week.
I will tell all my contacts not to buy from them.
