We started these lessons based on a friend's recommendation when my son was 6 months old and have stuck to it since. The lessons are quite expensive, and have progressively become busier (more kids), but every terms I think about cancelling and then my son has a breakthrough and starts enjoying it more and so I decide to stick to it for another term.
There are a few issues with it, well, firstly it is a bit expensive, and the automatic booking thing is a bit annoying (but understandable). There were a few occasions when the lessons was cancelled last-minute (which is very annoying), but in all fairness they offered us a refund or an alternative lesson every time, even though it was due to problems with the pool. Another problem is that they seem to have a high staff turnover, so we've had 4 different instructors in 6 terms (3 out the 4 were very good).
Perhaps we've been lucky, but I haven't had any problems that justify all the negative reviews. I agree that it is expensive for what it is. Also the photo-shoots are way too expensive, and we never bothered with them anyway. The lessons themselves have been good, and I can see my son making progress. Perhaps there are better lessons out there, but I can't find them!
Another note, they are inflexible generally, but they have been flexible with us when we had to go away for 6 weeks. They allowed us to pay only for half the term - having said that, it was before the rebooking deadline and I could have cancelled the whole term if they said no.
