I am sure you have been into a supermarket and asked for an item, and received a blank look from the staff, and if you are asking for pickled puffin eggs, it's understandable but yesterday when I went into Tesco, Cowley Road, Oxford, and asked if they had any string, the assistant, who was a supervisor, had to ask a colleague what string was.
