Asda have now decided that you have to open an account in order to check your receipts for the much vaunted price comparison with possible vouchers. It is now not possible to check receipts without this so presumably people, and there are some, who do not have internet access are excluded from this offer. It is not possible to check receipts instore as Asda is hiding behind the Data Protection Act to stop staff asking for information. Why should you need to provide ANY personal information just to check a receipt? Just another way for Asda to add to their database. I also note that you have to opt out of receiving marketing mail - why can you not be out unless you opt in?
