Though Aldi is known for its low prices, I don't find fresh produce lasts very well at all and is often bruised before it gets into a shopping trolley. I do like some of their other produce but it is always going to be a minor shop rather than the main event for the week. Sadly,the Wollaston branch offers the most appalling customer service. Large trolleys are hurled around the stores without any care or attention to customers, often into peoples trolleys or worse still directly into the oncoming path of customers. The worst action is the obvious need for speed at all costs at the tills, regardless of the ability of the customer to be able to keep up. Customers are always right has no place in Aldi's staff training. Any complaints about the till service just receives back chat from the staff stating packing is supposed to be done after payment regardless of whether that is what the customer wishes to do or not. Given that a high percentage of people who use the store are elderly, the treatment they receive is despicable. Till operators are clearly given targets to meet and any that remain employed obviously enjoy the competitiveness of that rather than giving a good customer experience. I have found the security man more helpful and available than floor staff when making an enquiry. Come on Aldi, get your act together, without customers you wouldn't remain in business. Treat them with the respect they deserve and be helpful not a hinderance to your customers.
