“A Suit That DOESN'T Fit”

Written on: 02/07/2012 by DavidCatt (1 review written)

I thought I would treat myself to my first tailored suit last year, partly because of my slim build and my frustration in getting a great fit off the peg. I chose ASTF, the first time I have bought a tailored suit, based on a review in the Telegraph.
The service - you meet a 'tailor', mine was an ex-salesman (nice enough though) in a rented office. He measures you and helps you choose a suit. This bit was fairly good although the fact that they turn up with a suitcase of suits is a little odd.
The suit - You then wait many weeks for your suit to be made and get a text & email confirming it's arrived. The suit is sent to your home and you take it yourself to the fitting. Unfortunately for me this is where it went wrong.
The fit - aweful. The suit jacket was made way too small. I was re-measured and the original measurements were wrong. Photos were taken of me wearing the jacket to demonstrate to the senior manager that it didn't fit. An uncomfortable & impersonable experience. Several more weeks go by then the suit is re sent to your home.
Another poor fit! The same thing then happened again. I complained by email and a junior telesales person contacted me and didn't really know what to do. No one senior bothered to contact me. I currently have a poor fitting suit that I won't wear in public that cost me more than off the peg. Do not buy from them.

Hello David,

I work in the Marketing team at A Suit That Fits and I have just come across your review. I am very sorry to hear that are not satisfied with the service you have received so far and I must apologise for this on behalf of the business. The process of having a bespoke suit made is much more complex then buying off the peg or going made-to-measure, however, we do promise to work with you to get the fit of your suit just how you like it. For more information on our fitting process please see here;

I would urge you to contact your Style Advisor to address any issues you have with your suit, alternatively you can call our customer team on 020 3006 7999 and they will able to help.

I appreciate the time you have already taken into creating your bespoke items, however, if you have any further feedback on your experience please do not hesitate to contact me directly at Helen@asuitthatfits.co.uk I will also raise this issue with our Regional Sales Manager if the problems have not yet been sorted.

I look forward to hearing your feedback and working with you to ensure you are delighted with your suit.

Best Wishes,

Helen Buckle
