I decided to take on the homebase card for all the advantages presented. At no time was I told in the store that you needed to spend £195 to avoid interest (£99 in Argos) so I got charged over £7 for under 150 purchase!!! Then when I received my statement of £323, I noticed another charge of £4.86... An insurance that I was assured (having checked 4 times with the salesman on the phone) that it was free if you paid the full balance (just like a credit card). Complete lie! Managed to get the inisurance cancelled and refunded but not the interest. Paid the full balance and closed the account without delay... I was told you should have read the small print in the booklet of terms and conditions... The customers service man did not even know whether it was in the small print on the back of the statement... RIP OFF, LIARS, never going to shop in homebase again!!

Good for you, but you got me worried enough to check my statements that there was no insurance. These types of insurance are scams and I would always refuse them even if told they are "free".
My idea of insurance is that it should be taken out by the party who stands to lose if something goes wrong. In the case of credit card companies it is they, not you, who stand to lose if you can't pay - so they should be insuring themselves if they really believe that they will face ruin if you can't pay up for your packet of grass seed.
