You say " IT CAN BE USED ANYWHERE THE DUET SIGN APPEARS "- great that means you have to search the shopping malls - I dont think so. You should supply lists of the shops/stores so you can PLAN using the card IN ADVANCE. You say partners are Argos, Asda, Currys - is that all? I have used it a Clarkes Shoe shop - so there must be more shops. Why not include this info on the account letter. If this info is online - I couldnt find it after an hour or so searching,

I have had a Duet card since 1980 (when it was a Hornes card) and have a direct debit of $20.00 per month paying in to it. This used to be quite handy and it meant 'no interest' purchases at HMV and some Gents outfitters. Since HMV disappeared from my local high street a couple of years back, and all the associated menswear outlets seem to have gone out of business spending on the card has been limited so a healthy balance has accrued. After checking the creation.co.uk website I was glad to find that Currys PC World accepted it, so trip to the local store, purchase a laptop and hand over the card. After 40 minutes of personal embarrassment I was told that the card was not actually accepted. Got home (without the laptop which I was really only buying to use up the cards credit) and called the Creation Customer Service number to be told that I was going to be charged 9p per minute on to of my normal phone charge and got through to their helpdesk to be told that despite Currys being on their website it was at the discretion of the store as to whether they accept it. I asked where the card was valid and got told 'where the sign is displayed'. A less than helpful answer. I asked for the balance to be transferred to my bank account and the card cancelled which they performed without and quibble. I was then asked 'why do you wish to cancel your card?'. God give me strength!

I got a list that these are the stores ...so went to a famous jerwerllery store ernest jones which on the list. Only for the manager to say they dont accept.so came home fuming and rung duet card only for the rep to tell me over the phone that its upto the stores discretion to use it or not we cannot force them.sooo my question is then give us a list wher we can use the card its misleading by using a certain company name.i also checked on ernest jones website and it stated that they do accept duet card so they are also either no knowledge of the staff not knowing or misleading again.

I have had no problems with my duet card as yet. I pay monthly direct debit. I can use it in a number of shops such as mandco, JJB sports, Brantanno. I can view my account on line. I can also use this card to get cash. It is a little like a credit card and you sometimes receive offers with the statement. The only downside that I have found is that my on line account was blocked when I cancelled my card and I could not make a payment on line until my new card had arrived. Payments can still be made by phone.

Do not touch this card with a barge pole.... I set up a direct debit to make my payments and every month for nearly a year they charged me an additional £20 late payment fee despite they were late collecting it... needless to say my account went into arrears, they then started charging me an additional £12 for over limit fees and then more money for legal letters.... I had a tough fight with them but did eventually get reimbursed the money charged to my account etc but because they handed my account over to a debt collection agency, I now have poor ratings which I am in the middle of a legal battle with via solicitors.... I recently rec'd a letter from them after I wrote one to them saying they have increased my credit limit as Im such a good customer... bet I am after charging me nearly £1000 in incorrect fees..... stay clear they are rude, uninterested and rip off merchants..

Ive had this card via Brantano and had nothing but trouble, so much so I cut it up earlier this year because of the problems making payments, their statements ALWAY arrive after the due date so you then get charged late payment fee. Their online site is rubbish and lacks information.
I have a card now and cannot find anywhere i can use the blasted thing

This card is rubbish. I got it from Quiz store. I used it once to pay 18 pounds for clothes to get 10 % discount. After few days I logged on their web site. Account ballance showed that owed them 18 pounds. By giving my bank account details a paid all the ammount, an after that, when I checked amount due to them it was 0. so i didn'd mind checkink my bank statement. And today I got the letter from them, that I haven't made a even minnimum payment and i owe them 40 pounds with penalty fee and interest. I wnet to check that with my bank, and the money never came out from my account. So now i have no proof that I made that payment, and I have to pay penalty fee. If they didn't receive that payment, why account ballance was 0. Piece of sh*t. I am gonna pay them of ang get rid of that card. This one star is only because there was no other option, because I would give 0

I'd not used mu Duet card for a couple of years until last year when I started shopping in Peacocks regularly, over the months I've not been charged AT ALL for my purchases! One time my purchases came to more than £30 so the Peacocks staff had to phone through to get the account authorised and apparently I'm not on their system. My card expires in 8 months time, hmmmm how much shopping can I do in that amount of time??!........lol!

I got a Duet card to use at my local M&Co store and don't have any problems with it. I just pay the balance in store .. done.
But I was told in the blurb that came with the card that I could use it anywhere there's a Duet sign. I tried it in Focus the DIY store which apparently accepts it but no.. they didn't. So what is it with these cards that they say one thing but using it is another?

This card is soooo rubbish! I picked it up at Ann Summers as part of a promotion and was told I could use it anywhere I saw the Duet symbol. When the hell was the last time anyone saw a Duet symbol? I get a nice bit of junk mail from Duet every month with offers and all sorts but none of the stores they claim to be affiliated with will accept payment with a Duet card. When I rang to complain some chap in Mombai that I could barely understand starts reeling off names of shops I can use the card in, most of which I've never heard of. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

These cards are only good for two things . One helping with cash flow to wards the end of the month and two getting in store discounts. Use them only when you realy need to and pay them within two weeks. If you don't know if you'll have the money or remember to pay it off then don't use it. Don't look at them as a credit card in the traditional way. Never ever miss a payment in full. Paying interest on shop purchases is for people that don't care that they could get a bad credit rating. Don't get the card for the wrong reasons and you'l be fine. You can have fun saving money and buying treats when you want them. But you must pay in full within two weeks then you can't be late paying. Know what you owe them at all times.

rubbish customer service, payments are monthly so i paid at beginn9ing of every month however as bill was due to near end of month computer recognised it as late payment so was charged £20 evey month for 5 months without relising it, purely for paying early. Customer service was unhelpfull even when i proved i had payed every month, get rid.
