Through my internet banking services, I inadvertently paid a very large amount to my Debenhams credit card which was meant to pay off another card's balance. As soon as I clicked on the 'SEND' button I realised my mistake but was informed by my bank that this could not be retrieved and that I would have to contact Debenham's customer services to ask about getting a refund paid back to me. I have contacted Debenhams (Santander cards) on several occasions only to be told by their Indian call centre staff that my overpayment would be reviewed 'in due course' and that a refund would be duly processed and sent to me by a cheque payment. This was 8 weeks ago and to date, I have still not received my money back. I am now struggling to make ends meet as I borrowed this amount to pay off another high interest credit card and actually had a nil balance on my Debenhams card. I cannot understand why they haven't yet repaid this amount (over £5,000)and am now worried that I will never see this money again. I strongly advise anyone not to have any dealings with Santander bank in any which way as they are impossible to deal with if you experience any problems.
