how can i tell if my automatic currant regulator is broken,i pluged a 38 watt light in and it did,nt work untill i reved it up the light came on ok and then blew. help;also is there a throtal cable or dose it rev accoring to load put upon it

I am not familiar with this particular generator. However, I can tell you this. Generator engines need to run at a constant set RPM. This is how they generate current. So you may hear a drop in engine RPM and then a "rev" as the engine recovers from the load the generator put on the engine. However generators WILL NOT increase rpm as the load is applied. So bottom line, the engine will need to run a set RPM to generate the correct voltage/hertz.
Just a side note: Inverter generators are NOT rpm dependent. They can adjust RPM based on the load.
