Sandy and Ashraf are great City Index assets and their seminars are both a pleasure and an education. Yet both of them are very different. Sandy is steady reassuring and explains in simple language that the mechanics of trading with the tools of technical analysis are simple once you know how – the problem is what goes on in the novice trader’s undisciplined head. But with steady patience and realistic advice from many years experience, he guides his novice traders over their first hurdles to launch ambitious careers in trading.

Ashraf is the opposite. Fundamental and intermarket analysis is his interest and expertise clearly forged over many years on trading floors. Intellectually more stimulating than Sandy’s mechanical approach but when the object is to trade profitably, both approaches are important for novice traders to encourage them to understand themselves and find their own trading style. Ashraf’s wit and tongue in cheek style is funny but always serious and contrasts with Sandy’s “older brother” concern for his students. Both clearly have their students’ best interests at heart.

There are many other trading organisations that charge – in some cases – very large sums with unrealistic promises that feed get rich quick pipe dreams. The fact that City Index does not charge for its’ seminars is a credit to them and I’ve found them very helpful in surmounting the initial hurdles of trading and after several false starts with other brokers who offered trading facilities with no education, support or advice. The City Index seminars and the approachability of both Sandy and Ashraf have helped me both as a trader and an investor and the ability to attend their week day and Saturday seminars have been invaluable.

Well done City Index. Keep up the good work!
