I have used Millets in Gloucester several times over the years for smaller items but ran into trouble as soon as I bought something of any value.

The item was sold to me as "waterproof" but really wasn't. When I went in to query this, you wouldn't believe the array of avoidance and excuses I was given. Things sold as waterproof aren't actually waterproof, you have to buy waterproofing treatment and treat them yourself. They can't look at returned products because of "health and safety". No, they can't do anything today, you have to come back in two days time if you want customer service. Walking boots shouldn't ever be used in muddy or dirty conditions, it's not safe. The whole world seems to have had the same problem with this product, but because Millets Gloucester are so special they have to do special Gloucester "tests", which will take a few more days. It went on and on.

Oddly the chap explaining all this nonsense to me was quite pleasant about it, but the obstruction was overwhelming. Obviously they have a lot of people returning things as not fit for purpose and have this policy of obstruction to avoid giving refunds. Next time I will pay a few more quid and have some confidence in a purchase like this.
