“Toyota MR2 Roadster”

Drive from A-B with a smile Put a bag or two behind the seats. One big or a few bags in the trunk upfront. Drive and enjoy. Its a cabriolet with leather-roof and you can also have an additional hardtop Price to buy. Cheap(but do your homework before buying one) Fuel Economy. Very good 45mpg(UK) or 35mpg(US) 7L/100km(EU) Maintenance. Low because it has a Toyota Corolla engine. Power. Higher than average car and fast acceleration Safety. Extremley good braking power and handling Practicality. Good, got a full-size bike in it, a big mirror and alot of bags when I so needed.

Good fun car, nice to drive in the dry but soon as it rains, pull over for fear of meeting satan before you should!
The Mk2 in my opinion is an all round better car but if you like going sideways its the car for you.

I bought one of the first Toyota MR2's in the country in 2000 and I still own it having covered over 70,000 miles. I was planning on buying another car at the time but saw it at the garage and after a brief drive bought it - loved the handling and performance - far more than the MX5 which I tried the previous week.
I have never regretted my decision - totally reliable and a blast to drive - the only car I would consider as a replacement is the Elise, especially now that Lotus are using the 190 bhp Toyota unit.
Over the past few months I have driven a Focus ST, Nissan 350Z and the new MX5 - none come close to the MR2. Any critisism of the car tends to revolve round its practicality - dur, it's a 2 seater sports car and wet weather handling - drive slower, what's the problem? If you want a comfortable car buy any larger saloon - or even the new MX5 - the ride is far better than the MR2 - but if you love that go kart feel it's the MR2 or the Elise.

Had the car for ten months. Wish I had driven in the wet before purchasing but loved the soft top and the sleek line of the car, comfortable position, and in the short time I owned it it was enjoyable.
