I bought my 2008 Mercedes-Benz CLK 350 last year (2012). I live here in Anchorage, Alaska. The vehicle was shipped to the State of Alaska from a dealership in California and a Nisan dealership in Anchorage, Alaska bought the vehicle. It was from the Nisan dealership here in Anchorage, Alaska, where I purchased the vehicle. When I bought it, it had only 13,000 miles on it. Today it has approximately 14,500 miles on it. Due to the very long, cold winters here, I store my vehicle during our long winters. I paid $35,000 for this vehicle from the Nisan dealership here in Anchorage, Alaska. I love driving it. However because I am 6 foot, 3 inches, and 255 pounds, getting in and out of the vehicle can be quite difficult. Driving this vehicle is fun. I love the vehicle. One thing is it is not good at all for any winter driving because it being rear wheel drive. This is my summer car. My wife tells me it is my mid-life crisis car. It is a real joy driving it...but if your a big guy, like I said, getting in the vehicle and getting out of the vehicle can be difficult. Avelino R. Mayoral [email protected]

even though its 12 years old youd think it was made only a couple of years ago, well built, smooth and fantastic good looks, good on fuel too. I wont go back to holden or ford after this. This type of car must be pampered though. I consider it a hobby car. Half the fun is in the detail, after all the whole purpose of a car like this is the impact on all those who see it.

I bought my 320 with an LPG conversion. This means I get the equivelant of about 45mpg on cost.
Having all that oomph, the great V6 sound and getting economy is great. The LPG tank in the boot still allows enought room for a travelling family of 4, suitcases and all so I can only imagine its a huge boot without the LPG conversion.
Its also luxurious. Although a decade old it has every extra (Avantgarde model) including S class seats, auto windscreen, zenons, electrics all round, auto diming trear view, parkimng sensors fornt and rear.
The only negative is the driving experience isnt quite what I've had in the past with my Alfa's and BMW's. Its a bit soft in the corners. I can live with this though becuase the overall value of the car is terrific.

I did my apprenticeship as a motor mechanic in the early 80's, taught by real mechanics....and I since then have owned Vw's, Audi's, Saab's, Bm's and more than I can remember, but the Mercedes Benz CLK 320....well, even though it 's a bit older than I'm used to, what a car...Wont buy anything else now other than a Mercedes....But I love the styling of this one (208)...classic...I'll keep , restore and love this one....if ya can get one...Buy It!!!!

clk 320...problems from start (first day) when i put the key in it wouldn't give it back at the end of trip, replacement something or other but the same thing happened on the first day to my business partner as he had just got the same car...same problems and failures at the same mileage time all the way to replace the lighted digi display not the main important stuff but the other stuff, failed on both cars within 24 months cost to sort £600. wheel arch problems on both cars within 36 months, ive had so many merc hire cars over the last 5 years whilst mine has been towed away and my business partner too.

Wheel arches - big problem. Try and find a good one! Reliable - so far (after 2 yrs). Problem with 'squell from front nearside wheel' don't know what problem is, nor does Mercedes, nor does anybody else or garage! Beware, wheel arches will rust - 'bigstyle!

I was looking for ages for a Merc 320 or a BMW 535. I found mine in Feb 08. It's a 1998 model and had done 20K miles (genuine! with full service history). If you are interested in a 320 then you need to have a test drive. You will not be disappointed. Mine is the Elegance with all the extras.

Comfort, looks, performance, better than a 3 series. Smart sophisticated for the people who know there cars.

Extremely reliable, economical, fast and enjoyable. I would recommend anyone who's looking for an exciting coupe for around 15k shouldn't look any further than this.

We weren't really looking for a Mercedes but when my wife and I saw this car with only 45k miles and in mint condition... we bought it. We've driven Jags to Maserati's and all types of sports cars and the CLK 320 is by far the best V6 engine I've ever driven. Gas mileage is great!
We plan to buy another CLK 320 - TWINS!

I'm very happy after 6 months and 8k miles. Effortless driving over long distances and capable of 35mpg without being a slouch.

I can't wait to get into my Mercedes Benz CLK 320 car and drive. It fits me like a glove. I am a little too comfortable in it. I like the steering. I love the control of the engine. I love this car. Great stereo, speakers don't shake, the steering is very good, make sure everything is held down in your car before you take a wild turn!! I like the suspension, except it can get a little shaky at times.

I looked at BMW 330Ci and CLK before choosing the Mercedes Benz CLK 320. It is a very good motor. Great styling and all you would expect of a coupe. Mine has 17 inch AMG wheels and sports suspension. This transforms the car from a softie to a much firmer handling car.
The engine is strong and smooth. The autobox is a strong point. The tiptronic function is useful and allows greater control.
The build quality has been a bit shonky of late, but the CLK seems to have escaped the worst of it. The light switches in the roof are a bit flimsy, though the rest of the car is very solid. The dash is good, and equipment levels are what you pay for. Merc have never been generous with toys.
Seats are comfortable. This is really for two front people. The rear seats are useful for short jorneys or small people. It can be a bit claustrophobic as the rear windows are fixed. The boot is huge, and would not disgrace a saloon car.
I would recommend this if you want a stylish coupe. If you want a (slightly) better drive then get a BMW. The BM's problem is that it fails the first coupe test. It is basically a 2 door salooon.
The CLK is a strong all round performer without being the best in any category. It does the basics right, and great for wafting around town.

This is a very desirable car but once in ownership it has numerous irritating features and doesn't deliver a pleasure of ownership one would expect. After 12 months it has still not "grown on me" and it's not a car that you can ever feel at one with when driving.
Poor brake and accelerator pedal relationship/offset, excessive accelerator pedal travel/response and deep seat squab result in leg cramp and lower back ache regardless of seat and steering wheel positioning (which is not adjustable for height). No lumbar adjustment on the seats either. I expected some basic driver comfort to come as standard but my advice would be to have the full ergonomically adjustable seats.
The optional fully automatic climate control system option is a waste of money. It just does not work and needs more development. It doesn't wait until the engine is up to temperature in cold weather before turning on the blower so you freeze even more. Once a temperature is set it cannot maintain it constant. When reported to Mercedes Benz their answer was that the system should be permanently set to the "optimum" 22 degrees! A bit pointless then, giving the owner the opportunity to adjust the temperature to what he/she wants. No OFF button.

I am in total agreement with this review. I have had ongoing backache since I boight this car. I prefer to drive my girlfriand's Mini bewcause it is more comfortable. My CLK had faults with the auto seat positioning, rattling speakers, a falutly track rod which were eventually sorted but on a £40,000 car I should have had to put up with it. Mercedes failed to offer compensation or an exchange even though the problems occured within weeks of purchase. I wanted to move away from BMW but wonder if I should have stayed.

I agree with this review, my Merc had nothing but irritating problems since I bought it, I now have a 330ci. The steering was my main gripe, for a car to be this price, you expect good steering. Instead it felt like i was wearing my jelly driving gloves.........still I'm sure those owners who have never driven cars with good steering won't notice the problem. It did look quite prettey though, and at least it wasn't a BMW, still I tried my best not to own one, but what else is there with four seats- don't mention Saab (who said wobbly Vauxhall floorpans) ot Vulva please, I'm still young.

Of all 2 door 4 seat 6cyl rear wheel drive cars made today, only the Porsche 911, BMW325Ci, and Ford Mustang V6 are lighterthan the Mercedes-Benz CLK 320. The Porsche is much more expensive and cramped inside and the others have less power and cache. The CLK has a very rigid body, good fuel economy and storage space. It is exceedingly well built and solid. But oh, that style: unique, sleek, classic, timeless. That style (and construction) is where it trumps the BMW330Ci. The CLK320 is also lighter than the BMW330Ci and costs more, giving it more exclusivity. The BMW330Ci has more horsepower but the CLK320 has more torque. The 16 inch wheels are too small and narrow. I replaced my original wheels with 18inch AMG monoblocs - much better looking and give better handling

In "good points", the reviewer writes that the car is reliable "because"(?) of its designed-in faults. This makes no sense.

<br>Also, if he wants to turn the blower down or off, he needs to push the fan button several times. Each time he pushes, the fan blows less and less until it is off. Not as simple and convenient as a dial, but this is how it's done.
