We awoke at 4 AM and got to Wimbledon for 4.45 that morning and joined the queue. There was already a fair amount of people waiting to get in and that was not including the campers who stayed overnight for tickets.
We were very lucky, at 9.30 the gates were opened and we received some of the last wristbands for Court Number Two.
Everyone in the queue was in good spirits and we kept bumping into people who we had met throughout the day. The staff around Wimbledon all looked happy and made us feel very welcome. We watched some superb tennis ( on the day that three seeds were knocked out) and the weather was great too (no rain!).
Even though it was very busy we got food easily and regular drinks of Pimms too. To be expected, it wasn't that cheap, but not as pricey as some festivals and more generous.
I had a brilliant day and left smiling. I would really recommend everyone spending at least one day queuing for Wimbledon as it really is worth it.
