a triumph of the advertisers art, Jack Daniels must vie with Johnnie Walker red label as one of the most popular whisk(e)ys on the planet, yet both are atrocious, though in different ways. JD is sweetened, coloured and artificial tasting whereas JW is just plain rough. Avoid

Very good whisky, the charcoal taste is lovely and very much different to oak matured whiskys. I don't really like it mixed or with ice, much better on its own. Also I find its even more delicious every time I try it. Quite expensive(i dont understand why one person described this as a cheap drink to get drunk on) although all whiskys are quite expensive as expected with a quality whisky that will be savoured. Good unique whisky though, probably my favourite and definatel worth a try.

JD is THE Whiskey. There is not another one that has that same great tatse. It smooth yet has a nice flavor that just covers your taste buds. I have tried replacements and there I haven't found one that = JD!

As nice as Jack Daniels tastes with coke and as much as I enjoy them, I've limited myself to one single Jack and coke every time I drink.
Otherwise I wake up about 4:00/5:00 in the morning with the most uncomfortable, disgusting symptoms, the same as what I would have if I had a nasty stomach bug!
The drink seems to get to your head before you even realise it, don't know how, but it does. It got me stupidly drunk several times when I really wanted to stay sober, it seems to get me lightly tipsy while I'm drinking it, then before I know it, everything kicks in together and I don't know where I am!

i don't know how it is in the states, plus with the drinking age of 21 over there, but in the uk people over 18 will buy alcohol for minors and jack daniels is only what can be described as a cheap alcohol that is only drank to get totally hammered off and personally i don't like the taste, but maybe they make it differently in the US but to me the finish is a bit rough.

the whole 80-proof thing and not being as strong as it used to be doesn't bother me since i drink it with ice cubes or a splash of water anyways - just add less ice or water! very easy to drink, smooth with a nice initial hit (a mild hit). if i drink some in the late evening, my sleep is wonderfully relaxing and i wake up with no hangover at all but feel quite good and refreshed. only pity is that i waited so many many years to try it (33 years!!!)

Very sweet and sickly, hints of coconut, rough finish. Great marketing though, which is the only reason it outsells superior whiskies.

God bless America. Jack Daniels has to be the best sippin whiskey in the world. Of course this is only my humble (but correct) opinion. If you have never tried it, I can only offer my sympathy, you will never get back those Jack-free years, but on the bright side, you have a fantastic future together. With ice or with Coke, there is no better taste sensation available for the discerning palette. so, here's to Tennessee Jack, the finest whiskey distiller on this planet!

While Jack Daniels is often thought of as a shooter, JD has a better life living in a glass with three ice cubes. The powerful apple flavors jump out when it's held on the tongue, while the smokey aftertaste sits far back in the throat. There may be better or cheaper out there, but for the money and the taste, Jack Daniels can't be beat.

I have a stressful job, so there is no better way to unwind than by having a shot or two of Jack Daniels Tennesse Whisky.
I've been drinking J.D for a long time and it hits the spot every time. You can't beat that burning sensation that goes through your throat whenever you knock one of these back. It also tastes very nice when you mix it in with a bit of Coke, this is also a good way to minimise the impact of the 'throat burn' if you struggle to neck the stuff.
J.D. isn't the cheapest whisky on your supermarket shelf, but boy it's the most lethal. I've always got one of these in my cabinet for that special occasion, and I will be drinking it until I drop.

Your label motto "Whiskey Made as Our Fathers Made it for 7 Generations" is sadly not true. I don't believe "Our Fathers" made 80 proof diluted whiskey as you now "market " under their name. Unfortunately "Jack Daniel's " is no longer a good whiskey, but has been replaced by a very very profitable brand. What a sellout.

Jack Daniels Tennessee Sour Mash is a Whiskey with a unique taste.
If you don't love it, you havent tried it.
Best with one ice cube in my expert opinion.
