Can buy these next second hand for under £50 - which is a bargain. Like most speakers they will need to be positioned properly - close ish to a back wall on stands. Work well with a warm AB amp or valve amp.

I bought these speakers a few years back, kevlar to withstand the bass...no popping paper speakers and they looked nice! hahahahhaha these speakers are the worst speakers I have ever bought, cold tinny and insipid in sound, tissue paper could have withstood the bass they puffed out! the screw wire connections at the back are also brittle (3 snapped) they look lovely but really, they are a waste of good money

Well built. Made in Britain. Nice clean sound. Can be bought discounted from richer sounds for £50.00
People have complained of no bass but the driver is barely 5 inches so can only do so much. If you want house shaking bass buy a bigger speaker (tdl tower speakers are good. Overall I agree they are not worth £150.00 but £50.00 is a complete steal for such well made speakers.

The TDL KV1 speakers are thoroughly recommended for good quality sound reproduction (and when your wife does not like large floor standers like the Omni Audio that I previously owned)

In general, these are good speakers for the money. Although a few years ago I got a pair of Eltax Liberty 5+'s for the same price as the TDL KV1 speakers(enough said).

Note, this is based on a Yamaha RXV-357 receiver (105wpc RMS, front channel) and a Sherwood AX-4103 stereo amp, rated at 50wpc RMS, and all of this of course is in my humble opinion!

The TDL KV1 speakers are a slight improvement of the Nucleus 2 speakers. This is mainly because they look nicer, and they are more expensive, so they sound that slight (and I mean slight) bit better.

The bass again is a bare minimal, no "chuffing" (due to the bass not existing), or this could just be because they were not against a wall.

The best way to describe them: Not worth a penny of the money (with a retail of £149.99). And this is while they were wired up to a Cambridge Audio Azur 640A (this amp is only 65 W.P.C and the speakers are 110 Watts - they are so rubbish they popped)!
