Don't get me wrong; this dock did sound very good, with an impressive rich bass and it has a nice feature set...when it worked. Don't expect it to last anywhere near as long as a speaker dock in this price range should. Mine has died after 18 months of moderate and gentle use and since that is beyond the 12 month waranty, I'm up the creek without a paddle. Anyone want a JBL boat anchor? The problem is that the Chinese made main Atlas drivers aren't built to last and are blown easily without heavy or long term use. The whole thing is Chinese made, so obviously profit is coming way before quality with JBL. It's telling that JBL no longer make this over hyped speaker, which also means there's no way to repair your very expensive JBL dock once it dies months after the waranty period. Shame on JBL!!! I will never buy another JBL product. Don't get sucked in by the discount prices and rave reviews for this or the other JBL docks which also contain Chinese made junk speakers. Almost none of them tell you how long they will likely last or reveal the poor quality control, but there are quite a few reports of failures being reported online if you search. In these prices ranges and lower, there are many much better options now. You would be better to save for something in the higher price bracket if sound quality and longevity are priorities. An Apple music speaker that is lucky to last more than 18 months is no bargain at any price. Buyer beware of overpriced JBL junk.
