When I first watched the Lord of the Rings, I never thought about how huge of an impact on me it would have. I watched the first movie as a young boy and it was the greatest movie I ever saw. But with all the action and digital effects, the soundtrack is truly one of the highlights of the movies. When I first watched them, I just loved the action mostly. But now that it's nine years later and I appreciate the music more than anything else in any movie. It has peaceful melodies that resemble the Shire, adventurous trumpets for the scope of the entire movie, and dark scary choirs for the terrifying moments like the Nazgul. It mixes perfectly well with the series tones and themes and makes me want to watch the movies again and again and again. I also love how they bring in new soundtracks with each movie, but also keep the music from the previous movie in aswell. It's truly magestic to listen too and is something that for me, never gets old. The soundtrack for the Lord of the Rings trilogy get's a full 5/5 from me. It's peaceful, it's majestic, it's terrifying, and it's just flat out amazing. I look forward to listening to the new soundtrack for the Hobbit in December, 2012.
