Untimate slim and light desing. (I wish sony vaio would make another slim design with inproved performance and even lighter.)
It is the best design and idea of an ultra portable laptop ever made by man in my opinion. I would wish to see more of these ideas from sony vaio in the near future, and iam graving to have this vaio vgn-sx505vp ...

A very heavy, noisy and slow laptop, not worth the money, battery life is useless - never been able to get more than about 20 minutes life from it. Picture resolution is its only saving grace but if watching videos for a long period it seems to slow up and you get picture jumping. Therefore I do not recommend Sony ...

Very solid laptop, I've taken mine all over the world and it's still very fine. I've had to re-install a few times (windows...) but after re-install it works fine and pretty fast again.The screen is beautiful, and gives a good view from all angles.
After 3'5 years my laptop is now very slow. Short battery life and doesn't cool down good, so not to be put on my lap. However, for 3 years I've had good pleasure from it. It's just slow now if you compare it with all that's out there ...

I bought my A290 a couple of years ago factory refurbished. To this day, it's still a phenomenal all around multimedia machine. Something very special. Just wanted to put that out there. Well recommend the Sony Vaio VGN
