“a A1 class solar company”

★★★★☆

written by Cyrusr258 on 14/03/2024

contacted project solar by accident after looking at advert.I was then contacted and a appointment was made .At first appoinment i found it was alot to take in. But after looking at everything i asked for the panels to be sited on two different roofs instead of on one facing south east. The salesman had to return and alter all the paperwork and agreed to some on south east and some on south west. After that everything went ever so smoothly even though it was fitted on the only day it snowed. The only compliant was it took two phone calls to get the fitting team to comeback and tidy some loose wires on solar panels

“Smooth Instal ”

★★★★☆

written by ram7001 on 23/02/2024

After lots of paperwork, date was fixed for scaffolding and instal. Scaffold was done in half a day and next day the he solar panels got installed on roof top. The electrons came a few days later and fitted batteries and rest of the connections. It too a full day 2 people working. Scaffolding collected a week later. It took some time for certificates and ref no from the grid but once these arrived I was soon exporting to grid. Indications are that I will benefit in long term.

“Project Solar installation”

written by on 22/02/2024

Right from the start this has been a positive experience. The rep was very knowledgable but not pushy and never rushed me into making a decision. The scaffolders were fast and very careful of my garden. The installers were a complete delight, friendly, efficient and very tidy. Also, the after care has been great....I'm impressed!

“Smooth process ”

I contacted project solar on a whim from an advert to see what the deal was with solar and the benefits. Once I spoke to the sales rep, I was sold! I knew solar was the way to go but this conversation confirmed it with me. He was honest, accurate with information and had a clear simple cost structure and savings benefit. The office team were second to none and the installation team arrived on time, were courteous and polite. It all went sooo smooth I would recommend this to anyone thinking of having solar fitted. Good price, excellent loan package and excellent product.

Very pleased, professional and communication was excellent, I was kept very well informed about the installation times and date, follow up emails and phone calls to make sure I was happy with the work being done, the people doing the installation were knowledgeable and would answer all my questions, everything was complete and running in about 4 and half hours, even in the bad weather we had, I would fully recommend Project Solar.

“Fast Action, Well Organised”

★★★★★

written by Hanna1957 on 14/02/2024

A lot of information to absorb, but the salesman was very patient and helpful. The fitting allowed for one day to put up scaffolding, installation the next and then taking down the scaffolding a couple of days later. Before the installers left, they explained the system, put an app on my phone, and showed that electricity was already being produced. They offered different options to fix the equipment and nothing was too much trouble. There is one thing left to do, connect to Octopus Flux, which is for me to do and is in hand. Our Smart Meter is already showing much reduced energy costs and we get a "pay back" too. Very happy with everything, so far, and if there is a problem I have the help line number to assist. It's going to be easy to calculate savings, both from electricity reduction from the grid and also cash-back. Would recommend Project Solar team to anyone.

“Worst organisation I have ever dealt with”

★☆☆☆☆

written by JohnJ161252 on 13/02/2024

The Sales Representative who attended gave incorrect and misleading information. When the contract was eventually signed and the installation date agreed, three days before the scheduled installation, the Company decided that my roof tiles were unsuitable. Someone was supposed to visit to examine the tiles, but I have my doubts that anyone did. The Company cancellled the contract and this has left me with a lot of problems to sort out. I will certainly not recommend Project Solar UK to my friends and family and I would advise anyone reading this review to keep in mind my experience, before proceeding with the Company.

“Great Service! Very professional - Thanks Project Solar UK”

★★★★★

written by PNaylor on 13/02/2024

Having made the decision to research solar panels we had an appointment with the representative from Project Solar UK. He was very informative, giving us lots of information about how the system works and the benefits to the green planet and to our own energy usage. We were given a price for the panels we needed, together with details of the various methods of financing the project. Everything was so well explained that we made a quick decision to accept the plan. We were given an early date for installation and the whole process ran very smoothly, starting with the team putting up the scaffolding and followed by the two installers working quite quickly to complete the installation. It's great to look at the software on our PC, to see how the panels and the main electricity supply are working together to provide all our power and how the electricity loaded from the panels is also being used to supply to the grid. We are very pleased with the whole process and the final product.

“Prompt and Efficient Installation ”

★★★★★

written by Sherwood239 on 10/02/2024

After carrying out my own research and enquiries I asked Project Solar to prepare a quote for PVPs and batteries for my home. They were swift to respond and the sales rep who visited was friendly and knowledgeable. Their quote was reasonable and they were able to send a team just a week later to install the system. On the day, they arrived on time and carried out all the work quickly and expertly. They completed the full installation in half a day, inspite of the rain and cold. They took me through the app and showed me how to monitor the system which was switched on by 13.30 and was working well. One minor improvement would be for the team to bring and use dust sheets to prevent wet and muddy footprints on carpets and for the electricians to clean up the dust and cuttings after their work. However, the system installed is first class and is making an immediate difference to the exorbitant cost of energy. I recommend highly Project Solar. For an effective, friendly and efficient installation I don't think they could be beaten.

“Really impressive service”

★★★★★

written by IRWLE1PSUK on 09/02/2024

We looked for some while regarding solar power and were often put off by warranty periods for panels and equipment along with prices for panels. Finally came across Project Solar UK due to them offering lifetime warranty on the panels and the Inverter so arranged to meet a surveyor, expecting the usual "salesy" home improvement scenario. It was a pleasant surprise when that did not happen. Time was given o check out funding, that I have to say was at usual high street rates. The warranty and output of new panels at 455W each and an output in low light and a hybrid inverter that allows a no battery or add one later option. We put in an order that the lead time was just a week, well it was February. The scaffolders arrived on time looked smart and introduced themselves then got on with the job with little disruption taking care to move garden ornaments to clear space. Next day dawned with drizzle and very cold the fitting team arrived again on time looked again smart introduced themselves, looked at the outside, the electric under stairs cupboard and loft. Quickly set up and started their respective jobs, the panel roof fitters had the cold job, my wife kept the teapot hot and ready. The electrician in under stairs cupboard had to work in a cramped space but they used internal trunking to run the feed cables and had to use larger trunking but it kept the outside neat. They even attempted to add an extra panel but that was just not quite possible. The team were polite and efficient left their workspaces tidy. Added a monitoring system on my cell phone and to my surprise on a wet grey day that required lights on in the lounge the system started generating power. It does take a while to get linked to our supplier but we were saving on power right away. All the way through the project managers kept us informed answered any queries and questions along the way, processed a refund for the unused panel and fittings right away and explained exactly why that panel could not be fitted. Over the years like many folk we have had "home improvements" from Glazing cavity wall insulation guttering and such this has been the nicest experience of all. We would have no hesitation in showing our system or recommending this Project Solar UK to Family, Friends or neighbours a stress free experience from the get go.

clearly explained what they would install, what it would cost, what it would deliver and how long it should last. They delivered what they promised on time or earlier in every respect. They contacted me regularly during the process to advise me what to expect to happen next and to after the event to see that it was done to our satisfaction.

“Efficient Service ”

★★★★★

written by SWAME1PSUK on 02/02/2024

From the start of the process to completion, Project Solar have been open, efficient and without fuss. I was particularly pleased with the speed between signing contracts and the installation. In fact, the work carried out by the installation team was fantastic. In and out in a few hours with everything explained and minimal disruption. Thank you. The person who came round to explain how solar panels work and whether it would suit us was a decent, honest broker. It had already been established that our south and east facing roof area was suitable and the explanation made it clear how we could optimise solar energy. We would happily recommend Project Solar.

Very professional from the moment the sales agent came to our house, answers all our questions and was very informative, we compared with other brands and went with project Solar due to their warranties, the panels look very smart and blend into the roof, scaffolding was very slick in putting up and all the builders and engineers were very professional. Very impressed and would definitely recommend

“Everything went to plan.”

★★★★★

written by BAGHX2PSUK on 31/01/2024

Nearly everything went to plan, cables had to follow a different route, to that planned, from Electricity distribution unit to inverter, but was a complete success and resulted in a very tidy job. The engineers cleaned up any leftovers and dust, all in all a complete success. The equipment fitted looks very substantial and has worked well.

“Stellar Install Team ”

★★★★★

written by WRIYO2PSUK on 31/01/2024

Project Solar were very quick at getting back to me throughout the entire process, from setting up the initial survey and then the installation itself. The survey representative was thorough in explaining the details of the solar panels and solar battery system, including how it would interact with our electricity supplier, and went through the details of the customer protection and quality standards which Project Solar are certified to. The install team arrived exactly when they said they would, and immediately set to work unpacking the system and the installation equipment, and were highly professional and friendly throughout the install. I can see from the app and our electric bill that the system is working well and generating electricity as expected, even despite the current wintery weather! My only criticism would be that some of the details provided to the surveyor were not passed on to the installers - they were not aware on arrival that we had a loft conversion, or that the electric meter was located inside the house and would require running some underfloor cables to the outside. They handled these issues commendably, however it added a bit of time to the install process. I would definitely recommend PSUK to others in the future.

I am having a system installed in Feb 2023. I know what make the panels are but I have no idea what the make/model of the inverter and batteries will be. I am having 20 panels installed with a 6 kW battery. If anyone has very recent experience of either, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Avoid this company like the plague . I had them fit panels to my roof resulting in a wet loft every time it rained . On contacting them they sent a very rude " engineer " to assess who said he could not see a problem . Also the projections they say when selling this product are way out , currently I will not break even with the purchase price until I am at least 204 . I'm sorry to burst the bubble of free energy and very low energy bills but this company is not the one to use . I hope this is of some use

12 panels, a 4.8 kW battery ("TP30B" is all I know of the battery) and a "Solax" inverter were installed mid-November 2022. Project Solar were always helpful when I queried anything. The whole system is very responsive and is performing beyond expectations during these short and often gloomy days. Hope you will be as happy with your installation as I am with mine. CM

For every positive you’ll get negatives! I was cautious but well he spot with mine! Electric bill has plummeted, admittedly it isn’t as good in the winter, but from August 2022 when installed, I paid no electric until around mid October, and even now I see benefits, so it’s your call as I am happy, but others may not be. But then that’s the way of the world!

My Project Solar panels were installed in June 2014 and appear to be working well. I have been receiving calls from companies offering to check the performance of the system which, they said, was a legal requirement. Is this the case? I am suspicious and believe that this is a scam and could lead to an invalidation of the warranty.  Thank you Regards

I have a question I need to ask (but not directed at this solar panel company where I have got mine from). My parents (pensioners) have solar panels and I suspect that the company that installed them have gone into liquidation. Will they still get FIT payments and who do they contact if there is a problem? Is there a governing body like Ofcom? Any help would be much appreciated.

Dear Sbartrip Your parents should have registered the feeding Tariff with any energy company. This way it does not matter if the company that installed the panels is trading or not. The forms and documents take approx. 5 weeks to process. Regards Abdul Raouf Ackad

Can anybody tell me how much are you producing over the last 2/3 days given the bad whether condition? I have installed it last week and my 4kw system is producing on average 300 watts which not even covering my washing machine which consumes average 600 watts on its one run and in a day it comes to 3.2kwh. I'm not sure my system is performing in optimum level given the bad weather.

I'm producing between 340 watts and 490 watts (at present and exporting at presentas well) It does vary and it's not good light at present so it will be lower than usual. You won't get a balanced distribution in a week...... I will be getting my first cheque in the next couple of weeks, and overall I think it should be good! This is my readouts from OWL Intuition Today 1.2 kWh 0.1 kWh Yesterday 2.6 kWh 0.1 kWh Yesterday you generated 0.6kWh more electricity than the day before. Last Week 16.2 kWh 1.2 kWh Over the last 7 days you generated 16.6kWh less electricity than the previous 7 days. Last 30 Days 139.5 kWh 38.9 kWh Over the last 30 days you generated 140.1kWh less electricity than the previous 30 days. Since Install 1070.2 kWh 508.3 kWh

Hi my system has been installed over a year and since that time I have only generated £32.00 from the FIT. I recognised there was a problem with the system not generating as expected and informed project solar about this. After a year and some months I am told that an engineer will be inspecting the system. They also guarantee your payment as stated in your contract and should honour any loss in generation to the amount stated in your contract, they only do this in the first year. Get onto them quickly and ask about loss in generation. You should be generating a lot more than you stated despite the weather.

Thank you. As I write my system is produing 240 to 280 watts. Until now as at 11.52 am produced 1.5kwh and exported 0.5kwh. Weather is mostly cloudy. Yersterday I produced 3.1kwh and weather was better than any other days since installed on 6/11/15. I dont think today it will be 2.5 kwh as its very cloudy today. Not sure system has any issue. I will contact them again today. I guess your (Isambardkingdom) sysyem is working better. Marsbars I hope solar project will resolve your issue. Thank you for your advice. I have contatcted them yesterday...they checked on the owl system and informed me that its fine and working ok. Thank you very much

Report this content bazlewis Written on: 12/11/2015
yes during the winter when there is less sun you do produce less power. but do not worry some days are sunnier than others. you can get your system checked if you want but I always check my system by the amount of power I get on a sunny day. if its good on a sunny day its good when its not.

I would advise you to avoid Project Solar. Not only are the prices high compared to others, but the systems are of poor quality. I had mine installed over a year and have had very little benefit from it. Reported problems with the system not generating what I was told it would and to date this has not been resolved. After sales customer services I can only describe as a joke. Only problem is that the joke is at my expense. :(

Bit too early to fully assess When I asked about when I could expect to see a return I was told that it will take a few years to recover my outlay. They were totally honest and I didn't see it as some sort of magic wand. I'm due to get my first cheque in a few weeks and my monthly account from my electric company. I will then be able to start assessing the future benefits. I've also got to start to adjust how I use it in relation to the immersion heater and switching off my gas to fully assess the real benefits!!!! Wouldn't agree with some of the points made by Marsbars but then I don't know what system he had nor his location!!!!
