I like this almond milk. It is unsweetened but I love the taste of it.

Having lived a dairy free lifestyle for years now, I've experimented with quite a few milk alternatives in order to find a brand that tastes good, has relatively clean ingredients and is easy to digest. There are a lot of almond milks available, but the best I have found is the Alpro Unsweetened version. The first thing I like about this product is how it is unsweetened. The majority of milk alternatives on the market contain either a load of sugar or an artificial sweetener, but this product breaks the stereotype and contains 0.1g of sugar per 100ml of milk. This doesn't affect the taste - after all, if you really want sweet milk, just blend in a splash of apple juice or a little raw honey. The flavour of this milk is very pleasant. In all honesty, I can't really compare it to real milk as I don't remember what it tastes like - but this version is creamy and mild tasting, so the perfect base for smoothies. This product is also excellent value, at just £1.49 for a long life 1L bottle. The only other unsweetened almond milk I have found sells at over £3.00 for the same size. The ingredients in this milk are the cleanest of a range of milk alternatives - but for me, still not clean enough to represent a 5 star rating. They cut out the sugar and the artificial ingredients are kept to a minimum. The only thing I don't recognise is a stabiliser called Gellan gum. I'm sure this is perfectly safe, but as I've never come across it before, it means I can only rate this product 4 stars.
