I was enjoying using my Samsung Galaxy S4 mini and was meticulous in taking care of it. This phone looked pristine after 8 months and had never been dropped or even scratched....it loooked like new so my reaction at turning it on one day to have a black screen was one of considerable surpise. I contacted Samsung who told me to send the phone back to them which I duly did.
A few days later I received my phone back with a message saying that the fault in the phone was out of warranty and that as I had refused to pay for the repair the phone was being returned...?!?!
I was astounded at this because I had had no contact with Samsung and had no idea what the nature of the fault was or why it was considered out of warranty. Several phone calls on I still have no information from Samsung but they now tell me that the pristine phone's screen was cracked. When I pointed out this wasn't the case they asked me if I had the phone back and when I said yes, they said it was a crack only they could see - I wouldn't be able to see it without special equipment....and it was the inside screen not the outside screen.
Frankly I am not impresssed. This phone was like new and has no signs of use at all and Samsung are simply setting up barriers of frustration to wear down the end users to avoid warranty claims. Bottom line is the product is not fit for purpose because it failed without warning and Samsung's warranty is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard. Samsung used to be a quality brand in my mind but not any more.
