My Mum bought a 600G single gas oven and has hardly used it as it is dangerous and unsafe. There is a gap at the top of the rubber seal around the door. Consequently, the oven loses heat through the top of the door and heats up the control switch. The flame goes out frequently and the oven never gets to the correct temperature because the heat is escaping. Apparently, there is no adjustment in the door hinges so the problem can't be fixed.

This unit replaced an earlier model of Stoves 600G and since the 1st week we constantly have problems of the flame going out. A service engineer called and said that the design of the door seal was wrong and cut a section out of the bottom, not only has this not fixed the problem, the heat now comiing out from this area is now melting the top of the cupboard door underneath the oven.
he also said the old unit had a much bigger and better fan unit than this model and therefore requires more ventilation around it.
Seems to me to be an inferior unit to the old design.

When we got our new kitchen we also got a new Stoves 600G single gas oven at the same time as the old New World one we had was impossible to clean any longer. Everytime we had jacket spuds, you could smell my son's applewood cured bacon he had weeks earlier, not what you want when you are a veggie. So the clean oven made us poor but so far the quality makes me forgot that easily.
