Our experience with 2checkout, is that we are an Internet marketing consulting company who contacted them about credit card processing services. The 2checkout Agent pitched their service as unique, and 100% secure, in that the seller logs into the 2checkout Interface and emails the client an Invoice for payment. The client accepts the Invoice and responds through the link contained in it to make payment. This was described as “100% secure”; eliminating the need to collect card information. Every Thursday, funds are deposited into our bank account we were told.
We signed up for this service and trained our Agents on how to use it. The first week of using the service we put approximately $800.00 through it and the funds were deposited into our bank account on Thursday as promised and contracted. The next week we were comfortable utilizing their solution and we put a little over $11,000.00 though 2checkout. This is when the problems started.
The following Thursday we noticed that the $11,000.00+ hadn’t been transferred to our bank account as promised and contracted to do by 2checkout. It’s seems that “Risk Management” had held the funds for “Verification”. Verification? We Invoiced these clients and they paid through the Invoice we submitted. Wasn’t this “100% secure”? Apparently, not.
I called 2checkout. Customer Service and was told that these funds need to pass a “routine Verification Process” first. We were told that we had “missed” that week’s payout and the $11,000.00+ would be deposited next Thursday, after passing the “Verification Process”. That $11,000.00+ represented an entire week of gross income for our business and 2checkout was now telling us that we were not getting paid that week. Our business suffered and had to scramble to make payroll and pay bills. I let 2checkout know that I was unhappy about this.
Next week came around and 2checkout had this story that they were having trouble making contact with our customers. We called the same customers and had no trouble contacting them. Thursday came around and we were told that that we had “missed” that week’s payout and the $11,000.00+ would be deposited next Thursday, after passing the “Verification Process”. Now, we were looking at three weeks out before getting paid.
The Reader can see where I am going with this right? What was “100% secure” and easy became grindingly difficult and slow after 2checkout.com had our eleven grand in their pocket. Their attitude was irksome too, like… that they held all the cards. Needless to say, the relationship with them was souring fast.
I called the Ohio Attorney General and they were very familiar with 2checkout.com. To date, they have 27 unresolved Complaints against them with the Ohio AG. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. It is now weeks later and we still haven’t received our eleven grand.
Our company wants to warn you about the people at 2checkout. Don’t let what happened to us happen to you. This blog was created, and will be maintained, as a public service.
