We arrived at Riseley in Bedfordshire almost an hour early. We were made to feel welcome and offered complimentary teas and coffees while we waited. As we'd got there so early our instructor called Ned decided to start the session straight away.
He was very knowledgeable and competant at what he did. His easy going manner soon put everyone at ease. He put what looked like a strange figure of 8 device on his finger and we had to stare through one of these holes. By staring through one of those holes he could determine what was our "shooting eye."
We all had to wear ear defenders and the only time we handled the gun was when Ned loaded it and put it against our shoulder. I was unprepared for not only the recoil but the sound it made. The smell of the gun powder just added to the atmosphere.
Spectators were welcome and both our respective partners were made to feel part of the day. I've never had an hour go so quickly in my life. It was a fabulous experience and recommend it to anyone.
