Office Review

Bought a lovely pair of boots only to wear them for the first time and the zip at the back of the boot split open just metres from my front door. Tried fixing it but it happened again minutes later. So I took them back to the store expecting to get a no-quibble refund quite honestly. But oh no. The sales guy studied the zip, fiddled with it, then said that it looked like the problem had "rectified itself". I wasn't going to accept this. He actually got me to walk around in them to try and replicate the problem, but typically it wouldn't happen in front of him. They didn't have the same boots in store for an exchange. He then told me they would have to be sent away to be " assessed". Ten days later my boots are sent back with a letter saying that a strength test and a wear test had been conducted and there did not appear to be a fault. So I went for a little walk around the block in the hope that I had been wrong. Yet again the zip broke, literally after walking from my front door and down my steps. So they have been sent back yet again with a note saying to please conduct the wear test outside as this seems to be when the fault only occurs (I'm not an expert in physics but I guess it must be the impact of the hard ground or something). I have also written that if they still insist on this nonsense then the next letter they will receive from me will be a letter before action because under the sales of goods act it is illegal to sell an item of unsatisfactory quality. So we'll see what happens next.....but I will NEVER shop there again after this. A shame because I like their boots. Please please be warned people.
