I read the reviews on this company after I had placed order & admit I started to panic a bit as I needed my shed delivered on the day I was given. I ordered the 8x6 shiplap shed on the Monday late afternoon, choose del day for the Friday & shed was delivered in full at 5pm that day, it was not a local delivery either but to Scotland. Ordered a 10' x 6' (3.04x1.78m) Shed-Plus Classic Overlap Pent Shed (Code: SHS17875) on a Thursday. Website states that delivery is typically 5 days and that delivery is free - neither are true. I was given a £9.99 "surcharge" for delivery and, 8 days since placing the order, i have still yet to have contact from anyone as to when (or if) the shed is going to be delivered. Shed was delivered promptly, once a weather window appeared I commenced erection. Upon sorting through the 2 flat packs, I noticed several scratches and defects to the yardmaster metal shed. I contacted shedstore who arranged for their courier to collect. The shed was collected promptly, but the only thing not resolved promptly is my refund, because 2 weeks after the return I'm still without my money! Mr Giles, We were sorry to see your negative reviews on multiple review websites and our Facebook page. I can assure you that we have not "stolen" your money as you have previously implied. We have indeed chased up the refund at every stage as per our conversations and apologise once again that it has taken longer than even we would like it to in order to process your refund.
We have not been contacted by Trading Standards for a very long time and we submit our information to them for inspection to ensure we are acting correctly. They should have informed you of the 30 day period for internet businesses to issue refunds as per the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000.
I am happy to report that we received the final confirmation from our manufacturer this morning and your refund is being authorised today.

Myself and some pals had set aside an easter weekend for erecting 3 bike sheds alongside our house. On time delivery but only delivered one!Had to cancel weekend and duly asked for the whole order to be revoked.The quality of the shed was appalling, the felting for the roof was split when the driver chucked it on the floor from the small flat bed truck. recently purchased a shed from shed -store. what rubbish who ever reads this go elsewhere . very poor quality. The roof does not fit and have had to go elsewhere to finish the whole thing off it has worked out very expensive. I ordered the 8x10 workshop; this only differs to the shed due to four windows. Firstly the shed was delivered on the back of a flat bed truck, not a problem with that, but the strops to hold it down were over the shed sides themselves, where the strops were placed resulted in broken side panels. The shed really is made from fence panels and not very strong ones at that. I thought I was buying timber overlap, not fence panels. Dear GrumpyShedOwner, Unfortunately I cannot comment on your specific order as I cannot locate your order details from your 'name' but would like to comment anyway. We have been in business and trading online since 2000. Overlap sheds are made 'like' fence panels not 'of' fence panels. Overlap is an industry standard manufacturing method and the building is described as such. If the product was so poorly aligned and damaged then it should have been rejected and replaced with another one or outright rejected for a full refund. Customers are entitled to request a refund within 7 days after delivery. I cannot tell if you have contacted us at all or when delivery was as I cannot locate your order. If you wanted a more substantial building, which is what it sounds like, we also sell fully T&G sheds and workshops which you may have preferred. They are more expensive but you would not have needed to modify them to suit your needs. I apologise that you are dissatisfied but am still puzzled why you accepted it and installed it if it was so bad that you felt the need to post such a negative review.

“Do Not Buy”

Although ordering and paying was very easy and delivery was on the day agreed,the quality of the shed was very poor. The floor and roof were sent out as lengths of thin timber and sheet which all had to be put together first.The sides were of different heights and of poor quality.Not the product I thought I was buying. Dear Anonymous reviewer, Thank you for your constructive critisism. I am unable to comment specifically on the building ordered as I cannot verify your orders details based on the information you provided here. Some buildings have solid sheet or OSB (a form of chipboard) for the roof, others have tongue and groove panels which are thicker. All buildings are sold as DIY projects with some assembly required. The sides being a different height is a little worrying and I hope this was notified to us at the time so we could provide replacement parts to you free of charge.

I totally agree!! First of all it didn't arrive on the correct day, although we waited in ALL day for it to arrive. The standard of the shed is dreadful. We bought ours in the sale and that was bad enough. If I had paid full price for it I would have been more annoyed than I am now. The back of the shed came in 2 bits at different thickness. The felt for the roof, useless. Never again would I buy a shed from this company. Very disappointed

orderd my shed on a monday night ...got a call tuesday morning to say my shed would arrive on wednesday ...true to there word shed arrived .. well done shed store ..verry verry happy with my purchess ..i mesured for the use i needed the shed for ..looked arround .and shed store was far the best and cheepest ..be aware some competters as for exsta money for the base ..exsra money for delevery ...everything was in the cost ..NO HIDDEN EXTRAS ...EXSELENT WELL DONE SHED STORE (read more)

To start with let me say that my review submitted to Shedstore themselves has not been published. What a surprise, ie making sure they only publish the goods ones on their own website. 6'9" x 6'6" Shire Abri Apex build it your self shed arrived OK, but we then found out (nowhere to be seen on the website) that we had to prepare it ourselves, with 2 full coats of timber prep / protector throughout, etc etc, which took an eternity, not to mention the enormous amount of space needed to spread... I wanted some high quality sturdy fencing and came across the shedstore. I ordered fencing panels that came to £530.74, they were described as heavy duty fencing, however when they arrived you could spit peas through it and if you tried putting a nail into it the thin panels would have split they were as thin as paper, not only that they were warped, I called the company up and expressed my disgust at how bad quality the fencing actually was and asked for a refund, I was told to email them... Your refund was made 4 weeks after your order was initially placed and not the 6 weeks after cancellation implied in your review. Customers do not have to constantly call to ensure that we are doing our jobs correctly but we understand why you felt the need.

“What a rip off”

I bought a 8-6 overlap shed. I placed my order over the phone, the sales adviser was very polite they phoned me later that day with a delivery date to deliver 2 days later. So far so good i was quite impressed. 2days later my shed was delivered. The shed was delivered on the back of a pick up truck, it looked as if it had been thrown on. The delivery driver took the panels off the pick up & placed them just inside my front gate putting them to rest against the wall,that was his job done. He... (read more)

when my fence was delivered it was so flimsy nothing like the picture online and nothing like it was described mine too came on a pick up truck and the driver threw it about and dumped it at my garage my daughter said she didnt want to sign for it as she knew Id return it, I came home looked at it and was absolutely mortified it was warped the wood slats was paper thin had anyone tried to put a nail in it the whole thing would have split I called the shedstore who also operate under the name of fencestore and told them I wanted to return the lot I have now waited all in 8 WEEKS to try and get my cash back Im having to call constantly I have called again today and have been told I will be getting a refund by the 9th of oct if its not in then Ill be taking legal action we shaould all contact watchdog

I have purchase a Shire Shed from Shedstore and found the shed and the service to be excellent. I checked the shed before I started to paint it. I broke the part that holds the glass in place and the company replaced it without charge. I hightly recommend both companies

We have no record of any calls or e-mails being made to Shedstore regarding this issue, nor have the manufacturers of the product. Had we been contacted then replacement parts would have been offered. If the product was faulty and had you contacted us within 7 days after delivery then there would have been no charge for the collection so it would not "cost you more"

I ordered a Halls Greenhouse from them. It was delivered correctly as specified.After construction , I wished to obtain an additional part for the door and contacted their customer services asking for a price or information how/where I may obtain the part.I did not receive a response after 8 days so repeated the query. No response at all. They appear to be box shifters with no concern about after sales or customer problems whatsoever.Beware! (read more)

You then expect me to phone up, probably listening to music I don't want to hear whilst I'm waiting for the next customer service operative to finish his coffee, wasting my time and paying you for the privilege as your customer service number is not free. That,in my book is NOT what customer service is about.

As previously stated, we were unable to identify you from the information originally supplied. The name and dates now supplied have allowed us to find you. You are correct, there were two e-mails and, while they were received and actually dealt with to a point, they were not followed through to conclusion and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused. I assure you that it is not common practice to ignore e-mails. The staff members in involved will be spoken to shortly. Regarding your other comments, While our phone system is an 0844 number and is not free, it is only charged at local rates (from a BT landline), we do not profit from our phone calls like some other companies. Peoples musical tastes vary but we actually get more compliments than complaints about our hold music. I am sorry that you have such a low opinion of the customer service profession and assume that we sit around with our feet up drinking coffee. Many of us actually take our jobs very seriously.

Perhaps we should now let other readers make up their minds about this. One final point from me though is that had I phoned up and been told that I could obtain parts directly from the manufacturer (Halls), I would have wasted my time because Halls do not deal directly with customers, they will only supply parts through dealers.If you ever need parts for a Halls Greenhouse, there is a guy here :-

“cancellation charge rip off merchants”

Absolutely disgusted with this company and it's customer service ethics. We Ordered a £233 playhouse for our 4yr old which when delivered we realised stupidly that it was just a little too low in height so we decided to arrange for cancellation but to see if we could transfer the monies and order another playhouse which was an extra £140 we wanted to pay. We have no intention to mislead customers. The product details, including height, are included on our website, as is the cancellation policy. Unfortunately, since there was nothing wrong with the product this manufacturer will charge for collection and customers are liable for the cost of the return of the product.

I am having exactly the same issue with exactly the same product. The guy that answers the phone needs to be banned from doing so, he sounds like a atuck record and trys the tell you the advert says something it doesnt '5-10 days', No, look at your own website and you will see it says 5 days! It couldnt be more clear! I have even taken a screen shot of their page in case they decise to change it and try to tell me i was wrong! No doubt the supplier will get the blame, thats the problem with the middle man, takes your money but no responsability! If i hear nothing ny Monday i am cancelling my order amd going to Waltons!
