“Very Poor Customer Service”

I ordered a Halls Greenhouse from them. It was delivered correctly as specified.After construction , I wished to obtain an additional part for the door and contacted their customer services asking for a price or information how/where I may obtain the part.I did not receive a response after 8 days so repeated the query. No response at all. They appear to be box shifters with no concern about after sales or customer problems whatsoever.Beware!

Dear Sir / Madam. I am unable to comment on your order as I cannot identify you without a name. I also cannot confirm if we received your e-mail(s). If an e-mail goes unanswered twice, we have a fully manned, UK based customer service team available 8:30 till 17:00 weekdays that could have been called and your concerns addressed. Shedstore is an online retailer and does not hold any stock or parts. We could have passed your details to the manufacturers and they could have supplied you with parts directly.

So you don't answer two e-mails sent (- and received I might add) on 20/5 and 28/5. You then expect me to phone up, probably listening to music I don't want to hear whilst I'm waiting for the next customer service operative to finish his coffee, wasting my time and paying you for the privilege as your customer service number is not free. That,in my book is NOT what customer service is about.

As previously stated, we were unable to identify you from the information originally supplied. The name and dates now supplied have allowed us to find you. You are correct, there were two e-mails and, while they were received and actually dealt with to a point, they were not followed through to conclusion and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused. I assure you that it is not common practice to ignore e-mails. The staff members in involved will be spoken to shortly. Regarding your other comments, While our phone system is an 0844 number and is not free, it is only charged at local rates (from a BT landline), we do not profit from our phone calls like some other companies. Peoples musical tastes vary but we actually get more compliments than complaints about our hold music. I am sorry that you have such a low opinion of the customer service profession and assume that we sit around with our feet up drinking coffee. Many of us actually take our jobs very seriously.

Perhaps we should now let other readers make up their minds about this. One final point from me though is that had I phoned up and been told that I could obtain parts directly from the manufacturer (Halls), I would have wasted my time because Halls do not deal directly with customers, they will only supply parts through dealers.If you ever need parts for a Halls Greenhouse, there is a guy here :-
