I spent quite a while looking around at garden centres and on line, trying to find a sturdy log cabin to use as a workshop. Most of those on sale had flimsy lap type walls and thin roofs. Happened upon the Dunster House website and by chance they have depot only 20 miles from my home. I was very impressed by the overall construction of the cabins on display. “Good Product - shocking after sales”

I purchased a 3m x 5m log cabin and based my decision upon their website. The cabin is of good quality and assembly was fairly easy although the instructions were slightly confusing as it covers several types of log cabin variations. I have had the cabin 18 months and noticed a slight bow in the 5m wall which was making the joints separate. I decided to contact Dunster House for advice. Firstly, this is a great product; don’t bother shopping around as it the cheapest you can get, and a good company to deal with. The cabin is superb, we have ours split into two with the optional dividing wall & door; 1.5m at the rear is my workshop with privacy window, the front is home to a bar against the wall and 6’x3’ pool dining table. “3.5m x 3m Auval 45mm Log Cabin. I bought this cabin earlier last year (February), so have had plenty of time to reflect on the purchase. All the bits were delivered on time and blimey, were there a lot of bits! I was working on my own, so took me a few days to brush on some clear preserver and then carry them all up the garden. I’m a belt & braces type, so stuck some heavy duty DPC on the underside of the floor bearers before laying them out on the concrete slab and nailing them... (read more)

Bought a 5m x 4m Severn in Aug 2011 and am extremely pleased with it. Instructions could be a bit clearer but a bit of thought and a can of beer cured that problem. The structure is nice and solid and looks good. It has not noticeably moved yet (after 6 months) but after all the comments I will not worry unduly if/when it does so. Fabulous, quality product. Would never have been able to put it together without my husband and father but well worth all their hard work. Looks really good and extremely solid. Only problem is that our 3 year old can't climb up to get to the slide as the vertical ladder is too tricky for her but sure she will master it as her 5 year old sister can just manage it. I have to say though that they are not great climbers! Apart from that, they absolutely love it! (read more)

Superb quality for the price, everything fitted well with extra logs and other pieces if required and all screws, nails provided. Delivery was excellent with the driver offloading everything into the drive with a forklift truck and helping me put doors and windows into my garage out of the sleet and snow which was falling, very helpful. “Excellent company, fast delivery and good communication. The fort adventure was a little time consuming to put up but well worth it in the end, all the materials used are of a very high quality and the end result was fantastic and good value for money. Let me start by saying that I believe you would be hard pressed to find a better value building than this. You do, however, only get what you pay for. I have recently erected a log cabin from a German company for my parents which was far higher quality, but over 3 times the price for a similar size. In short, if you are expecting perfectly finished timber you will be disappointed. If, however, you are prepared to accept that this is a garden building, not a luxury apartment, you will be very... “Exceptional value for money is what immediately springs to mind. I needed extra space for office & leisure purposes and after much research decided that a 3x6m Avon Grande log cabin was the answer. I went for the full spec, including insulation to walls, floor & roof. My husband levelled the site in our garden and we were delighted with the rapid delivery of the kit. A great log cabin for the money. The 45mm walls are really strong and no problems with bowed timbers. I would however recommend some basic carpentry or construction skills as this is a fairly large building project for someone without any previous experience. As with all good builds a level and square foundation is a priority to get off on the right foot. Take plenty of time with this part as it will really help later on. Purchased a log cabin from Dunster House Ltd. and I'm so glad I did! Everything went smooth with delivery and construction and I would definitely recommend to my friends (I already have on a couple of occasions). The timber is high quality and after treating it, it looks like it will last a long time! There was a piece missing with my kit but one email to customer services which they replied to quickly and politely, meant it was with me in a few days! And on top of all of that it's great...
